Future me will hate me now but this whole time I’ve been naming these triggers with organization but as these levels get larger ima have to forgo organization. Future me will hate me for this, but whatever, future me won’t be that angry, right?
I shrunk the character down from 32x32 to 24x24. And I’ve added my first enemy. Unfortunately just getting the enemy to walk in a simple left/right Koopa Trooper style pattern is taxing the limits of the gameboy. How did they program this thing? Why can’t I make a simple character just walk forward without such severe lag?
The limitations are killing me. Everything has been running fine until I tried to add an enemy. Suddenly the game slowed to a crawl and I used up 75% of my graphical budget. That’s with just one enemy.
I’m gonna have to shrink the art even further. I don’t know how much more I can though without losing some serious details.
