A Growing Gamer
Nevermord decided to have a nice, relaxing day chilling, snacking, and playing some games. Unfortunately, it seems that SOMEONE has decided to tamper with his snacks today! Within minutes his head is bouncing off of the ceiling and his plush tummy is a lot more than a double handful! WONDERFUL commission by Gandere All credit for the amazing gaming references in the background go to them as well! :D
Story time!
I’m a dirty Internet nerd who wants to tattoo Internet references to themself okay? I’m also wholeheartedly forever a homestuck. So I wanted to tattoo some phrase but didn’t want to write it out and I remembered a tumblr post with the apperent HOMESTUCK LANGUAGE yeah. Cool. In my search of other Internet fictional languages I made the realization that the aperent homestuck language is actually just the Skyrim Dragon alphabet BACKWARDS.
Take with that what you will.
Interesting reading to mull over for a tabletop roleplaying game master OR a writer.
dang facist everywhere, we even got a cryptofacist
and of course his name is Gary
I’m filling in background details that I will probably never need in my gamemastering future. I have a lot of little spots where I can spend 5 to 15 minutes now creating “just in case” stuff, with my goal being to not have to stall during the actual session while I type furiously to answer a player’s sudden suspicion.
It’s space opera. They might ask me what the star system looks like. The hardest part about using https://donjon.bin.sh/scifi/tsg/ is remembering to copy all the randomly generated info and paste it into a World Anvil article. If I need names for all the major bodies in that system, https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/planet_names.php gives me ten at a time.
We’re a bunch of nerds having a birthday party, so food might come up. No problem: http://www.obscurehub.com/alien-restaurant-menu/ throws out better menus than I could create by mangling a real world takeout menu.
And if they go wandering around random hallways of the space station, I can use http://www.enworld.org/forum/dnd_view_block.php?id=210 to make up plot-irrelevant business names to keep ‘em occupied while the bad guys sneak up from behind.
Thank Smurf for all the folks who release these random generators, because my brain is too tired to actually make stuff up right now.
