Incorrect Quotes, Gancharov (1973)
Seeing things about Zepotha and putting my two cents in
Besides the obvious marketing ploy, and the lack of commitment to horror as a genre (making something like “Zepotha” a slasher rather thank something go Giallo or grindhouse)
It’s the fact it began with the bit. It began with “what if we convinced people this was a real thing and commented stuff about the characters??” Like it started as this??? Plan?? Already you’ve broken the sense of immersion this can really have. You’ve made it so people need to focus on certain aspects and keep things in line, which sucks a lot of fun out of it. You’ve made it not with the goal of something gun to create but something you can get more and more people to view and know about with barely any substance.
Gancharov on the other hand began as a photo of a bad title goof for a Scorsese film. there was no plan, there was no immersion breaking, tumblr users were free to make up as much as they wanted without limitation and it was great!!!
Gaslight, Gatekeep, Gancharov
