I finished the first book in The Raven Cycle series a few days ago and I’ve actuallyyyy been losing it god that book was so good

I’ve actually read aloud and performed the first chapter of the book to my family ITS THAT GOOD

I’ve made a playlist of what I think the soundtrack would be if it was turnt into a movie

- Shadrach by The Beastie Boys (because it says the Beastie Boys was blaring over the speakers at the restaurant where blue works and this song would be perf foreshadowing)

- Dad’s Song by Jake Minch (the most Adam song ever actually </3)

- But Not Kiss by Faye Webster (OK SO IMAGINE THIS PLAYING IN THE BACKROUND DURING ONE OF THOSE HALLUCINATIONS(?) OF THE FUTURE!!! Blue would loose her mind if she heard this song)

- Freya by The Sword (Loud music that Ronan listens to.. the vibes of the song feel fitting)

-Cardibian Blue by Enya

OR

-Blue by Billie Eilish

(Both feel fitting but would work best in dif types of scenes. I lean more towards Caribbean blue because it sounds so mystical)

Ganesy is trying to save Ronan (by bribing the school to not expel him for truancy).

Meanwhile, Ronan is trying to save Ganesy (from possibly dying from a bee-sting, it’s more dire than it sounds) by playing hokey (thus guaranteeing him all the time needed to conduct the life-saving solution).

Welcome to the infinite loop.

I love how we learn how Ronan’s hella jealous when his friends get new friends.  Like, apparently Adam’s addition to their crew set 👏him 👏off 👏. Ronan is really private about the things he really cares about, so this tidbit really got to me. Like if Ganesy favored Adam too much over him, that would GET to Ronan. 

And like, that’s so relatable. That’s a real thing, the awkward friendship thing where you want to be in the best friend spot and HOW DARE anyone get in between. But also that makes you insecure because you thought the two of you were closer than that. It’s alright Ronan you have a beautiful friendship <3 <3 <3

OMG that moment when the gang thought that Ganesy was going to die, things got so REAL. The way everyone reacted really hit me ;-; They love him so much!!! Adam and Ronan start threatening and bargaining with Cabeswater, and like, they sound crazy just talking to thin air, and normally they’d probably be too self-conscious to do that - but that’s how scared and desperate they are in that moment and how much they care for him! <3 <3 <3

carter and jack looked almost exactly alike, as if they were twins. same dark, curly hair. same amber eyes. same deep brown skin and lush mouths and wide cheekbones that were the envy of every girl in town. they weren’t twins, though. x.
