📓Story Time⌛with @__neurotica__ "I found my first ever reishi (Ganoderma tsugae)! I was so incredibly ecstatic to stumble upon these magical beauties whilst foraging for chanterelles. Kneeling on the forest floor in front of a moss-covered hemlock stump, I found myself in the midst of a mycological epiphany. I was in utter awe of their surrealistic beauty and striking scarlet-orange coloration. They don't look like your average mushroom - they were so vibrant and shiny that they appeared as though they had been sculpted, painted, and varnished (hence the common name "hemlock varnish shelf"). · Not only is this mushroom esthetically pleasing, but it is incredibly rich in various medicinal compounds and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 2000 years! · Reishi is an adaptogen (helps the body adapt to stress on a cellular level) and has been shown to significantly address ailments from fighting chronic fatigue to boosting the immune system, from promoting anti-aging and anti-oxidization of cells to decreasing cancerous growths. It can be used to treat lung conditions such as asthma and bronchitis, as well as to regulate blood pressure and cholesterol.
