Happy Lunar New Year, fellow goblins!

Today (29th January) officially marks the first day in accordance with the lunar calendar. This year belongs to the Wood Snake! 🪵🌳🐍💖

Those born under this slithery zodiac sign are said to very enigmatic and intuitive. Private and reserved, Snakes tend to act according to their own judgements. They are also very determined to accomplish their goals and dislike failure.

Wood Snakes in particular are charming, intelligent and creative, with a refined taste. However they may also be overly secretive, cunning and sometimes ruthless.

My Wood Snake is inspired by the colours of the Rainbow Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta) and the bark pattern of the Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia). It also has Ganoderma lingzhi fungi growing from its body. This particular fungus is known as the mushroom of immortality and is revered in traditional Chinese medicine.

Wishing all of us the very best year to come, and may the Wood Snake bring us lots of happiness and positive changes. 💖

I have found these three large Ganoderma mushrooms earlier in the day and I had meant to show them.

Ganoderma sketch along side the reference photo. It was hard to get photos of the pencil sketch that weren't covered in a glare. Pretty happy with this one, lots of texture.

yesterday i set free this cursed moon frog, next to the reishi i watched grow since it was just a little meatball. it didn't end well for the frog, but finn's burden was lifted

i ate the last bag of black pepper koka noodles with sautéed mushrooms on top of some greens. they were good

i haven't read any books about color naming systems in a couple of weeks, but last night, i dreamt i found a shade of purple named 'the evacuated dream.' a plate mounted on the yellowed page of an old book with the name printed below. my dream didn't include the name of the book so it was less than helpful in terms of my research

i dreamt i passed an army marching the other direction through the woods. they were close enough for me to see every individual's face, one by one. that dream didn't end there, but i don't want to write the rest down

this year, i'm watching dekalog backwards. it's hitting me harder than other times and i don't know if it's this order or this year

i have three undone tasks i need to do and i'm not going to do any of them today

Estrés y ansiedad: Como adaptógeno, puede ayudar al cuerpo a lidiar con el estrés, lo que también puede beneficiar la salud capilar al reducir el impacto de las hormonas del estrés. 

Potencial antitumoral: Algunos estudios sugieren que la combinación de reishi con quimioterapia o radioterapia podría mejorar la calidad de vida y la respuesta tumoral en ciertos tipos de cáncer. 

Salud cardiovascular: Se investiga su potencial para ayudar a mantener niveles saludables de colesterol y mejorar la salud de las arterias.
