I just realized that Qibli and Winter was just like q*eerbaiting. They were shown to have a romance thing going on (Qibli joking he would marry him, Winter going with him in DoD, and they clearly care more about each other as the series goes on), but instead we got rushed Moonbli.

yeah. yeah.

(i do have to make a side note that making moon’s book the first really did a number on giving her a relationship with another main character later on - it worked fine when it was a group that were all like siblings in the first arc, but trying to introduce a romance when you see one character’s side when they first meet and then don’t see their view again, but you see the other character’s thoughts in the final section before the romance - just a bad plan all around.) 

(it can be argued that having winter and qibli’s books closer than moon’s and qibli’s also made it easier to bring up a relationship between them, bc they knew each other well by then instead of just ‘here’s my new friends’ to ‘we’re dating now surprise’)

(but yeah the q*eerbaiting part is awful garbage regardless like just… not cool. tui also does not seem to get that a world that does not have homophobia will have more than a handful of gay people in it)
