BEIRUT:

Dozens of members of the Kataeb Party's youth wing scuffled with police outside an east Beirut landfill Thursday, in protest of government plans to build a landfill along the coast in the area. Police deployed heavily near the Burj Hammoud landfill site, as demonstrators marched from the Forum de Beyrouth toward Burj Hammoud. They clashed with police upon reaching the landfill as they tried to storm the construction area.
