GARF!
All my Human!Deathsong drawings :)
The cloak design took forever why did I do this again?
The last two drawings actually have more variations, but I put the two I thought looked the best. The list of names has all the current name candidates
That’s right ladies and gentleman we have Fanghook, Garf, Spitelouts Kingstail and Chicken all in one place.
Thats my Rtte corner.
Plus Chickens at level 100.
Please, tell us what you think of Garff.
For people who are wondering, Garff, or Garffilijorg, is the Death Song infant in the RTTE episode “Tone Death.”
What I find most interesting about Garff is that we learn more about Death Song communication, hunting, and what features are innate versus learned in this species. The riders’ experiences with Garff help highlight how both nature and nurture play a role in an infant’s development. I think that was awesomely and realistically done. It’s pretty cool.
We see, for instance, that it’s innate for a Death Song to pick up a “song.” Garff, without any tutoring at all, starts imitating the songs that the other dragon riders sing. This means Death Songs are genetically encoded to give these sorts of songs to lure their prey. However, we also see there is an environmental, learned element to this mechanism. Garff doesn’t automatically make the right Death Song roars. The infant Death Song learns the music the dragon riders sing - these melodies have been taught.
