In 1990 Missouri, 10 year old Peter meets four lost aliens, Gamora, nebula, rocket and Groot. believing it to be just like the plot of e.t., Peter allows them to hide in his house until they can find a way to contact their home, little does he know though, that returning to where they come from is the last thing any of his new friends want. Family members start to notice that the character's spending a lot of time in their room, acting rather snippy about people going in there, stashing food, and apparently talking to themselves.(and aprently trees and raccoons) the Walkman was from Peter’s mother. Yondu and Kraglin are at first hired to find and bring back rocket and groot, while Thanos sends his goons to retrieve his “daughters” Lilo and stitch came in 2001. Peter’s element guns. Becoming concerned about Peter’s new habits, his grandfather decides to have Peter talk to a child therapist, who believes Peter made up his new “friends” as a way to cope with the loss of his mother. After discovering the kid’s friendship, as the true nature of the high evolutionary, yondu and kraglin decide to help Peter and his alien friends rather than capture them. Yondu and Kraglin find themselves unexpectedly attached to the unlikely group, especially after witnessing the camaraderie and loyalty the young boy shares with his extraterrestrial companions.
As Peter's bond with the aliens deepens, he starts to learn more about their pasts and the reasons why none of them want to return to their original worlds. Gamora and Nebula confide in him about their struggles with Thanos, sharing the emotional toll of their upbringing. Meanwhile, Rocket and Groot reveal their desire for freedom and adventure, away from the High Evolutionary's grasp.
Peter’s grandfather, still concerned but also intrigued by his grandson's resilience and happiness, starts joining him in his room. Yondu and Kraglin, now fully on their side, work out a plan to thwart both Thanos’s goons and the High Evolutionary, using Peter’s resourcefulness and his element guns.
