i re-re-redesigned Garnet in my AU so her outfit is less of an eyesore (i also drew this while high so the proportions are not perfect. might also give her her red color palette back to differentiate from Amethyst)

she loves saying outdated 80s lingo and striking a pose at inconvenient times ✨

Garnet redesign! I have always loved her more red design from early on in the show, so I tried to pick a more burgundy/ wine colored garnet to color pick from. I also included the gold/silver in her design so that the rings don’t look too out of place (garnet getting married was one of my favorite moments I HAD to include the rings)

Just wanted to share these AU designs! I quite like them, personally. Noticeably, only the Pearl has shifted to being someone else entirely! Hope you like the designs regardless. They’re in non-dynamic poses so I can nail down colours, but I swear there’ll be a more dynamic drawing of them soon!

Garnet Redesign

Next is Garnet! Out of the three main crystal gems, she has the most significant changes. 

I decided to remove the rings because it makes no sense that Ruby’s and Sapphire’s wedding rings would be able to stretch to fit Garnet’s fingers let alone the fingers (?) of her gauntlets. 

Originally, I was going to keep Garnet’s original gem-type and just change her other designs to be more similar to her debut design. But, because I decided to change Ruby’s gem-type (I’m not gonna reveal her new gem-type yet. Don’t worry I’m gonna post her and Sapphire’s redesign in a couple of days. Feel free to guess what I changed her too in the meantime), and the gemstone garnet didn't really work as their fusion anymore. So, I decided to change her into an emerald, because emeralds grow in like a cubic shape (liker her afro), and also because emeralds supposedly help with clairvoyance. I did look into making her into a green garnet (like a demantoid garnet) but it didn’t really match up to the powers Garnet has within the show.
