Time Shattered Scientist: Chapter 8, Underground Government and Advanced Nuclear Fission

(The last chapter for the Vetster Story Arc, but not the last chapter of this overall story) Vetster’s eyes finally opened, he looked up to see himself in a shallow grave. He sat up and looked around, all around him were gravestones and tall dark wood trees, thick fog rolling across the ground. “Ah, the sleeping fugly wakes” Digger cackles at his insult. “Wait, who are you?” “Huh, right, Vet never meets me in any universe. I'm The Grave Digger. I'm Death, the Grave, The Grim Reaper, the Ferryman, whatever you want to call me, fact is you’re dead.” Dig leans on his shovel, deep in the ground, in his hand was a mysterious open bottle covered in a brown paper bag. “Are you...drinking? What does Death even drink?” “Whiskey and scotch mostly, usually together. “ Vetster looks up, confused. He tries to climb out of the grave, only to meet a shovel to the face. Vetster swore it was stuck in the ground a second ago, and now, it's back in the ground, and it looks like Dig has never moved in inch. “Now listen, you’ve lived a remarkably short life, it's almost like the lazy ass author doesn’t know what to do with you, so he’s killing you off quickly. Whatever this isn’t cannon.” “What are you? Author? Cannon?” Vetster rubs his sore forehead. “Now, either you can make this easy and die quietly” Dig chuckles, “or I can get my pets to beat your ass. I’m thinking of just GC. Maybe Hellhound, he likes fighting for me.” “Pets? Hellhound” Vetster shuddered at the name Hellhound. “You have one of those? They are just superstition!” “Buddy” Dig took a long drink from his bottle, throwing it behind him once emptied. “You were killed by an Angel and now you are talking to Death himself. Still, no Hellhound isn’t quite what you're thinking.” From the thick fog and shadows approach four figures. From the far left approached a decaying cat man, dressed in only ratty old jeans, his chest had missing flesh, half of his face was completely missing, both his eyes were a deep yellow. Next to him was a shadow black Mothman. It's eyes fire red. It's wingspan had to be at least five feet. On the far right was a large werewolf like being, covered in shadows, seemingly pouring off its body like smoke, it's eyes were a blazing fire. Next to it was a large man-bat, shirtless, he smiled politely. “Meet my pets, Graveyard Cat, Marty, Damian, and Hellhound.” Dig absently motions to the four beasts. “You know how you fought four Angels, well, I have four pets. And they’d all love to kick your ass.” Vetster looks around, there was nowhere to run, he could feel his power gone. He stood no chance against one of them, let alone all four. “Listen, here’s what I’m going to do. As an act or irony, I’m going to split you into the two beings you are, and then reforge fusion, just as painful as you inflicted on Hood and Aaron, then split you again, and repeat over and over. Each time it’ll get more and more painful. It’s a fitting punishment don’t you think?” “N-no I don’t” Vetster backed himself to the far corner of his grave. “Well guess what buddy?” “What?” “I don’t give a flying f***.” “You don't give a what?” “F***, the author doesn’t like using the F word.” “The F word? Do you mean f***. F***. What the f***” “Exactly” Dig stood up straight. “So, let's begin the separation process, it’ll feel like you’re insides are splitting open, and you’ll feel ready to explode. It’ll be fun for me, your screams especially” Dig began to cackle loudly as suddenly Vetster bend over, clutching his chest tightly. He screamed out, his body splitting itself apart, the two beings violently separating. Vetster fell to the floor, yelling out in pure agony, the dark void of his mouth splicing outward, slowly taking over his whole face. His body began to melt, and destabilize, Vetster’s painful yell reduced to an agonizing whimper. “Oh the sounds of pain. That makes me want to drink with joy” Digger chuckles to himself, enjoying his show.
