Baseball wise is fun bc idk Shit abt baseball but who needs to anyway right? This is definitely influenced by sports animes but like. Gavyn ends up being team captain and basically molds the team into a terrifying powerhouse. And by the time hes captain hes probably like. A little more well liked by his peers, esp bc all of the bullies that wete strongly influenced by his brother have graduated and so like by senior yr or actually probably even junior yr the bullies have kinda become outliers that no one rly likes. Theyre off to the corner grumbling snideky but dont ever actually provoke anymore bc theyre outnumbered and thats not smth theyll win. This probs started like at leadt halfway thru his second yr on the team actually, when he starts getting rly good and so his fellow teammates are like..Bro and start defending him more and then by junior yr pretty much then entire team has his back and yeah. I think the current team captain when hes in his junior yr like...takes him under his wing and basically is mentoring and prepping him to be captain next yr. Skillwise: Gavyn is got endurance to outlast everyone u cant tire him out. He also im thinking. Had a bad experience like his first big game that he actually went in and he wasnt prepared and the coach had been neglecting him all season so ofc when the time came he flopped hard and didnt take it well. That was his first yr. I think that moment when it all came down to him, Kele actually like...cheered for him? But that only pissed Gavyn off more at the time bc he knew it was a pity cheer(this is before the real befriendment, also) so he struck out abd didnt take it well and hid after the game to cry sad and angry tears, Kele finds him and tries to talk to him but it all comes out so hollow and useless, how the fuck u gonna comfort someone when ur just gonna go back to being friends with their bully like that? So Gavyn p much tells Kele to Fuck Way Off. Yeah. After that he starts doing training on his own time as much as he can bc the coach was still neglecting him. He becomes a rly reliable batter who can run for dayyssss. Kele...started out mediocre but wasnt notably bad, and the coach didnt neglect him, so he became a pretty good pitcher. (He has nothing on either Seth or Hana tho, and so I think they play Seths school and Seth and Gavyn develop a little bit of a friendly rivalry, and so does Kele but his friendly rivalry is more playful. Kele is a decent/average batter so he has no chance batting against Seth and when pitching, his throws are nothing compared to Seths pitching.) Hes pretty all around reliable tho and by the time Gavyn is team captain, if theyre in a tight spot and he doesnt want to put a certain player in like, say they have a promising first or second yr batter that, maybe with practice would be able to take a pitch like Seths, but not in their current state, Gavyn doesnt put them in bc he doesnt want them to deal with such a public crushing defeat quite yet so he'll put in Kele who will be able to take the defeat with grace, no big emotional toll sort of thing. Hes invested in the game but he doesnt Lose Morale like the rest of the team which makes him usefull bc he'll keep their spirits up. Nik is the other good pitcher and morale keeper, tho his method is less constant joke cracking and clowning to keep things lighthearted and more...an Aura of calm reliability...he just. Puts out calming vibes.
