I know that Wimsey and Wooster crossovers are very popular among a subset of fans of both writers (including me when as brilliantly done as in Adina's Green Ice), so I was briefly discomfited when reading my copy of The Most of PG Wodehouse and discovering that Dorothy L Sayers is mentioned by name, as a mystery author, in the Mulliner short story Strychnine in the Soup!
Oh no, I thought to myself, and immediately started spinning some theories about how perhaps in this alternate universe Sayers IS known as a mystery novelist but purely on the strength of The Documents in the Case and Wimsey exists separately from her as a real person... only to then get to the Golf story The Clicking of Cuthbert and discover that PG Wodehouse is ALSO a character in the Wodehouseverse.
Now, I'm not sure what exactly that solves, but I've decided it's something.
