Blazing Dragons: Reflections Part 4
Gay dragons giving new meaning to the term "flaming".
Sir Blaze from Blazing Dragons
The Reluctant Dragon
Lord Dragaunus from Mighty Ducks the Animated Series
Unpopular opinion:I really hate the whole "this male character is female coded" takes made by fans of said male characters. The reason why they're "female coded" is basically "they're more emotional/have less agency/look more delicate(due to being played by pretty boys) than what (rigid, senseless) gender norms dictate." Also,9 out of 10 times, said male characters are cishet dudes who aren't even feminine.
I am not a fan of the term "female-coded" either. I have reblogged posts like this related to Snape and Anakin because I understand the point they are trying to make and there are certain female character stereotypes such as caretaking and how female flaws are presented.
But yeah we need another term to convey this. I have a similar issue when fans try to label straight male characters as "gay coded" (like what Destiel fans do with Dean from Supernatural) just because they have certain behaviors that they don't see as macho man. But then these are the same people crying about straight men having toxic masculinity. What is a guy supposed to do if liking the color pink or some other trivial nonsense gets him the gay label???
Trans culture is having every single character in a show have at least 1 group of people headcannoning them as Trans
“You know I wouldn’t do anything unless I did it perfectly!”

Toph is gay coded
I read in a post here that Zuko is a gay coded character, which prompted me to come to the conclusion that Toph is also a gay coded character.
She lives a dual life, can only present her true self outside of her father's sphere, the self she presents to her parents is a complete construction and a lie. In the earth kingdom chronicles she is shown to be very anxious to keep her façade but also has a deep yearning to be free and true to herself. She wants her parents to know the truth but is afraid they'll reject her. Which they do, when Lao finds out about her he is even more ashamed of her than before and orders her to be guarded 24/7. She runs away.

Character: I don’t like the binary opposite gender!
People: They’re ObViOuSlY straight or otherwise not same gender attracted obviously! Why would them explicitly stating that they don’t like the opposite binary gender have anything to do with being gay? Hah that’s just silly!
Blazing Dragons: Reflections Part 1
So recently I got hyperfixated on Sir Blaze. A heavily queer coded character from an obscure 90s cartoon, Blazing Dragons. I love Hermits and Heroes episode which focuses on Blaze's identity. I thought Blaze's interactions with his step sister Princess Flame were super cute. Unfortunately there isn't much of that in the show even in the episode in question, so I drew this little comic.
Never posted anything here so sorry If I'm doing It weird. this is Part 1 containing 4 pages. I'll post more parts soon
