Thank you for asking, and so sorry for the delay!!! This is for this meme here!

The Lovers: What made Rook realize they were in love with their chosen romance option? (Alternatively, if they don’t roll that way: Who among the Veilguard do they trust the most, and why?)

So. Nona and Davrin actually started out as a sort of casual hook-up, work-off-steam, friends-with-great-benefits situation. They flirted, they had fun, they had sex, and they cared about one another, but it wasn't intensely serious to either of them...

Until Wiesshaupt.

When they came back from Weisshaupt, surviving so many impossibles, Nona found herself really shaken by the chance that they could have come back from that mission without Davrin. And she realized that something in her had changed when it came to him. Being the person she is, she ruminated on it for a day or two, then went and had a pretty serious conversation with him about her feelings, what those feelings meant, and how they could handle them.

Thankfully, Davrin expressed similar feelings, and... that was that. They agreed to take things relatively slow, actually stopping having sex for a while to learn how they were as a couple, and to make sure they kept their heads in the game for the job that lay ahead of them.

Merrill/Caver: Oh, perhaps my absolute favorite what-if couple in nearly all of Dragon Age. Unlike a lot of people, I actually didn't find Carver that insufferable - though maybe I had the benefit in coming in with the already set plan of making him a Warden in my most recent Hawke playthrough; but I actually think Carver is probably the most interesting out of the siblings, particularly because how much he does push against you as the elder sibling (though absolutely adore Bethany with all my heart). Given how much I rolled my eyes at all the "interpersonal conflict" of the DA2 companions, I always found it refreshing here Carver actually be sweet on Merrill in his own fumbling way. Them as a couple is usually keeps me away from romancing Merrill (and, you know, Isabela is right there too, lol), so they are absolutely my bread and butter. (I am a sucker for awkward bean-couples, and they quite literally fit the bill).

Leliana/Josie: For me, I never was particularly interested in them as a couple? But perhaps that is usually because I tend to think of Leliana with the Inquisitor (and most recently now with the Warden thanks to Nurraya), but I do absolutely adore Leliana/Josephine so much, especially if we take into account that Josephine sort-of bares a lot of similarities to a younger Leliana in their first meeting, in the way of Josephine's overwhelming kindness and compassion, and hope for the world and people's inherent goodness in the face of the dirty, apathetic dealings of politics. I think the fact that Leliana could have been a Marjolaine figure in Josephine's life and choose not too is so beautiful of her character, and shows how much different Leliana is to Marjolaine. Sure, there is a chance she could fall and sleep into that callous debauchery, but Leliana's nature is inherently kind, and I think Josephine and her friendship, and potential romantic entanglement, is some of the best subtle writings for a new player that indicates how different Leliana is to the pragmatic collector of secrets she would have the Inquisitor and player to believe. So, I absolutely adore them, even if I do prefer Leliana with the Quizzy in a narrative sense, lol.

Motif: What’s Rook’s opinion on the rite of tranquility? Is there ever a circumstance that could change this?

Leth doesn’t really have an opinion? They don’t know any Circle mages— they probably don’t even know how it works, tbh. If someone told them, they’d probably think it was kind of fucked up, but also think like… maybe they don’t know what they’re talking about? Maybe there /is/ a reason, and they just don’t know. So kind of neutral. I think if they actually knew a Circle mage, this would change VERY quickly to “this shit is fucking awful”

Meraad has complex feelings. The Qun says magic is dangerous, but they’ve met a lot of mages in the Wardens since they left, and they’re /not/ out of control, or anything. People have told them about the Circles, and were patient enough to answer their questions, so they have settled on “Tranquility is bad”, at the moment. But Magic does still freak them out a bit. I think if they were extremely traumatized by mages, that opinion has the potential to swing back into “this is bad, but necessary”

Symbolism: The team is trying to rescue Rook from the fade. What five items do they use to do a summoning ritual?

Hey I know this blog might not be active so not sure if you’ll see it but I’m non-binary and I’m just genuinely relieved to find a blog that isn’t forcing me to gender myself. Just things like w/w and nb/w lately seems to mean do cis people view me as women and a relief to find a queer blog that doesn’t make me gender myself. So thank you and sorry for rambling

I'm happy to hear that. In fact, I'm very happy to know something I personally love from the blog helped other people. Particularly since I'm nonbinary myself and so gendering posts can be uncomfortable at times when my gender isn't stagnant. Um my Dragonborn is a mage named valvin and his cousin is kind of a reckless hot head. So he became fast friends with Lydia who has to guard both of them because now he has someone to panic with him when his cousin does something stupid

ask game: send me an ask telling me about one of your oc's and i'll tell you how i think they'd get along with my own oc's

if you put them anywhere near alexandria, you'd be getting two heart attacks for the price of one !! 🎉 alexi is also a really reckless person and she's pretty naturally drawn to hot headed personalities. she grew up in this stuffy af noble family, so she and her siblings would often pull pranks, mess with the guards, even steal things from markarth's wealthier residents just for the thrill (they'd later give the money to people who need it more), and it kinda made her a bit of an adrenaline junkie. i don't know how old said cousin is, but its safe to say the two of them would definitely enable each other's worst behaviors lol.

having said that, she is the Oldest Sibling, so she does have a bit of a protective streak, especially towards people younger than her (she's 27 as of 4E 201), so she's not the worst addition to the gang. she's savvy and can help them out if they're ever in a bind. she's a reasonably good healer and an even better alchemist, so if some dumb misadventures went awry, she'd be more than happy to bandage everyone up.

this is up to you of course, but i can definitely see valvin not being too fond of her at first, since she's a pretty difficult person to be around if you're not an easygoing person. i think she'd have to grow on him over time as he realizes that, despite her knack for mischief, she just wants to bring a little life into the place, and she's both capable and willing to pick up the pieces if things don't work out as intended.

one thing that i think would bring her and valvin closer is the fact that they're both mages! alexi learned magic in very non-traditional way (almost all her teachers were reachwomen, and one of them was even a hagraven), so she's got some unique insights and tricks up her sleeve than any mage would find interesting. i also think she'd make the scholarly dilly-dally of learning magic more entertaining with her playful/lively attitude, so maybe he'd appreciate that lol

My oc Miaara was forced to steal for awhile since she was raising her niece,Reyla and just struggled to keep them both a live but she gets comfortable stealing from rich people quick and stole a doll from a very well off merchant and gave it to Reyla. She still brings out even when she’s an adult if she starts getting scared,homesick or lonely.

my oc Saryn is also a thief!! I think they could rob every rich merchant and jarl in Skyrim blind if they worked together. Saryn would definitely love seeing the emotional attachment to the doll and the familial love between the two.

Zevran -- after a lot of cajoling from Ari. They had broken up due to his lack of being willing to say how he truly felt about her (ie giving the earring without saying what it really meant).
