Also do you have any idea on where to start if I wanted to listen to ghazals? Like i have always loved classical music (both hindustani and carnatic). Also any suggestions for reading shayaris?

I think Jagjit Singh is a good place to start. My favourite gazal EVER is by him

I also have a playlist with some pretty polular (mostly) gazals

Btw I have like 4 dps x gazals posts sitting in my drafts 💔

As for shayaris, I'm awful at reading hindi (It's my 1st language ffs. I've been whitewashed 😢 )

And I'm definitely extra awful at hindi+urdu so 🤷🏻

Alhumdullilah, I had such a great time today. I went to a Qawali event with my bestie and they did a bunch of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's songs. It was super wholesome. Brought back old memories of my father introducing me to Gazals and Qawali back when I was a baby.
