DRAGONSLAYER EP.3 RAMBLE(SPOILERS⚠️⚠️)
Genuinely hope Sirius begins to recognize the flaw in the New Tenessee bastard system over the course of the series, cuz this ep...really conflicted my feelings for his character(and that's the whole point me thinks).
REALLY HATE THE WAY HE TREATS CAIRO...or at least how fast he changes from being a "i recognize the humanity inside of you" type of person to a "i finna make it deeply and uncomfortably clear that you're the lesser person in here" jerk. Hot take, but him saying he's not a bully when he literally, just a few minutes ago, was treating and calling Cairo his "pet" has got to be the biggest hypocritical nonsense i've ever heard. Not even to mention he literally ridiculed and spat the food that Cairo made IN HIS FACE??? BRUH- that's exactly what a bully does.
Maybe he isn't a BULLY bully, but he's definetly an unsensitive jerk. And somehow there's beauty in that, not in his actions, but the fact that Geeb isn't sugarcoating the fact that bastards are ill seen in this society. And by showing this to us via us being the listener and experiencing this first hand(in a sense) and having to deal with this guy's not so subtle gay comments is...chef's kiss.
Really liked the ending part. It's so obvious that Siruis is deeply conflicted in his beliefs over bastards bcs of Cairo, and in a way I think he's tryin to ignore this by acting like a smug jerk towards Cairo. Because what else would a noble like him do in this situation? He's grown to believe his entire life that bastards, as he said, are "as equal to lesser demons". They're sinful. Liars and schemers.
And now here he is, witnessing the bastard squire he took in accept the challenge to cook all bcs he wanted to know what it was like to simply...cook. Because he wanted to genuinely try, and apparently wasn't even thinking abt winning in the first place. That's unfair. Because that means there IS a flaw in the system, in the sacred system built on a pedastal for years now.
And Siruis not knowing how to deal with this is very realistic, I'd say.
the funniest thing could happen in dragonslayer
CARIO'S DAGGER 🗡️
How confident are we that Cario's dagger has something about his lineage on it? I'm thinking more specifically that it has his father's mark/crest or something that was a gift from his father to his mother, to impress or swoon her, and she gave it to cario when she left and or taken away from cario. That would be an interesting additional detail to the item and a good reason why he's so protective as it is one of the last traces of his parents in his life. Something real that makes him feel more connected to what could've been. It would be very interesting to have Serius needing/wanting to return it and notice a familiar crest that he's seen so many times. Wonder how'd he react. I think it could be something idk if it will ever come up but at least something to think about. Feel free to let me know what your takes on our squire's dagger are.

My submission for the art contest, Drag Queen Serius because he’s just so gay and silly
Happy birthday Geeb!
