For once, papers weren’t scattered on his desk. He had filed and organized them prior. Now, rather late in the night, he had nothing else he needed to do. It was his free time. And -- well, what did he usually do in his free time? Ironically, work. Patrol the island, make sure everything is in order. But every now and again, he had to give himself a break.
He leaned back in his chair with his feet propped onto the edge of his desk, an indication he was thinking. --Of course, he was always thinking. But he dedicated this time to delve a little deeper into his thoughts.
As much as he willed himself not to, his mind still managed to wander to what Apollo had said during their fight weeks ago. His brows furrowed at this thought, and his right flipper subconsciously formed into a fist. Finally, standing up, he walked over to the door of his office, opening it and ensuring no one was passing the hallway before exiting.
Avoiding the command room, (which was usually still quite busy even at night), he took the long way around to get to Gary’s lab. Also known as the Gadget Room, fittingly. He knocked on the doors briefly, before turning the knob to open without a response. He leaned his head in, scanning the room.
