BIO
TRIGGER WARNING: death of a loved one tw
Death has always been a constant in Gabriel's life. At a young age he lost both parents to a tragic accident, leaving him to the care of his aunt and uncle, Sofía and Agustín. However he never felt unloved, always surrounded by his cousins who were like siblings to him.
From a young age Gabriel started writing and drawing his own stories, sharing them with his family and later on when he was teenager joining a few local zines in the hope that his work would reach some sort of recognition. With time he started getting a following which translated into him becoming a graphic novel artist as an adult, he has 12 published works with two more on the way.
In his late 20's he would meet the love of his life and after four years of being together they would get married, a small celebration with those they found dear.
Together they decided to move to Carroll, since it was the home town of his husband Louis, where they opened a bookstore by the name 'The Other Page". They had plans for their future together, life seemed to be all that he could hope for but sadly once again tragedy came knocking at Gabriel's door.
His husband passed a way, a terrible fall. One day they had been laughing together and the next Louis was gone.
It broke him.
All they had built, all their dreams and plans became a bitter taste in his mouth.
It's been five years since Louis passing, the bookstore is still open and Gabriel keeps a photo of his husband on the counter. He plans to remain in Carroll but feels lost without their late husband.

The bookshop has a section of local authors from Carroll, as well as, homemade zines from anyone that would like to share their work. There is also a small arts event in the shop every three months.
Gabriel doesn't talk much at first but once he gets to know someone he slowly starts to upon up.
Loves collecting handmade mugs.
Has two gold fishes, one named Bubbles and the other Patrick.

BIOGRAPHY: (full)
Evie Fields was born into a life most people only ever glimpse from the outside—polished, curated, and impossibly perfect. The youngest of three, with an older brother and sister who seemed to glide effortlessly into their own lives, Evie grew up in a home where appearances mattered. Wealth wrapped around her childhood like a safety net, softening every fall before it could even happen. From the outside, the Fields family was the kind people envied: successful father, elegant mother, well-behaved children, and a house that always felt just a little too pristine to be real. Evie became the centerpiece of that world without ever asking to be. She was magnetic—beautiful in a way that made people look twice, charming in a way that made them stay. At school, she was the girl everyone knew, or thought they knew. Friends orbited her, drawn in by the ease with which she carried herself. Boys, especially, saw her as something to win, something soft and pretty that would be easy to claim. They mistook her warmth for naivety, her kindness for weakness. Evie learned early how to smile through it, how to play the role expected of her, even when it didn’t quite fit.
Everything changed when she was sixteen. Her father—her anchor, the quiet constant in a house built on image—fell ill. It wasn’t gradual in the way people hope tragedies will be. It was sudden, invasive, and final. His death cracked the illusion of perfection wide open, leaving something raw and unrecognizable behind. Her mother unraveled. Grief hollowed her out, turning a once composed and attentive woman into someone distant, fragile, and unreachable. Evie’s siblings were already gone by then, off building their own lives, leaving her behind in a house that no longer felt like home. At sixteen, she became something she was never meant to be: the steady one. The caretaker. The adult. She managed what she could—bills, appearances, her mother’s spiralling grief—while still trying to hold onto the remnants of her own teenage life. But the world she had once moved through so effortlessly became heavier, sharper. The attention she once received began to feel different, more predatory. The illusion of safety was gone, and in its place was a growing understanding that she was, in many ways, alone.
By eighteen, things seemed to be shifting again. Her mother reemerged, slowly at first, then all at once, pulled back into life by a man who promised stability, charm, and a fresh start. He was a producer—successful, charismatic, the kind of man who knew exactly how to present himself. Their whirlwind relationship ended in marriage, and for a moment, it looked like things might finally settle. But Evie saw what others didn’t. Beneath the polished surface, something about him didn’t sit right. His kindness felt rehearsed, his smiles calculated. There was a tension in the way he spoke, a subtle control in how he moved through their lives, as if everything—and everyone—was something to be managed. Evie had grown up around perfection. She knew what it looked like when something was being carefully staged. And she was right to be wary. Behind closed doors, the man her mother married revealed who he truly was. His control turned into manipulation, his charm into cruelty. The house that had once felt empty began to feel suffocating. Evie endured more than she ever spoke about—abuse that blurred lines, that chipped away at her sense of safety, her voice, her worth. For a long time, she stayed, convincing herself she had to. For her mother. For what was left of their family. Until she couldn’t anymore.
When Evie finally left, it wasn’t dramatic. There were no goodbyes, no closure—just the quiet, breaking point of someone who had run out of strength to keep surviving in the same place that was destroying her. She thought leaving would end it. It didn’t. Without Evie there to hold things together, her mother fell deeper than before. The man she had married didn’t save her—he hollowed out what little remained. Alcohol became her escape, her refuge, her slow undoing. Not long after Evie left, her mother drank herself into an early grave. And no matter how much time passes, no matter how many times she tries to tell herself the truth, Evie carries one unshakable belief: She should have stayed.
have you seen ( neylani smith, she/her )? They look a lot like ( yaya dacosta ). The ( 44 ) year old ( sheriff deputy ) is so ( tough, compassionate, and protective ) but I heard they can also be really ( austere, presumptuous, and inflexible ). Can you believe they’ve been in town for ( 43 years )?! They live in the ( the cove ) neighborhood and kind of remind me of ( jet black tight curls wrangled into a practical bun, a lingering scent of cocoa butter, exasperated calls of ‘rupert!?’ when that tiny turtle has escaped its home again, probing and personal questions, post-its with lists of pros and cons, a harley tarped in the garage, and the usmc tattooed on the back of her left shoulderblade ). If I was asked, I’d guess that they were ( most likely to mother hen ) in their yearbook for the class of ( 1999 ).
TRIGGERS: mentions of military and police, sexism, performance anxiety
one of four children, she is the eldest with three younger brothers.
is from one of those ‘military’ families, where there’s a long line of them that’s enlisted at one point or another, specifically with the marines. not all of them, but most, including her.
father and mother ran a strict, but fair household (though their mom was an angel, ok). chores were done, homework completed, and curfew followed. but they understood the importance of play and family time, too.
as the eldest, she carried that responsibility of being 'role model’ to her younger brothers, and help raise them to be fine young gentlemen.
always felt she had more to prove and had to be the toughest, mainly because her gender seemed to be an obstacle to overcome in these male-dominated spheres.
in school, was essentially that person with her hands involved in all the things, whether she actively participated in them or not (like planning dances). she also juggled lacrosse and softball, and maintained a B+ average.
in lieu of college, she followed in the steps of many in her family and enlisted as a marine; she pursued being a fighter jet pilot and dedicated sixteen years of her life to it.
after, she got involved in law enforcement and is currently a sheriff's deputy. always needs to be in a serve-and-protect role, and a busybody, which has made her some unofficial "town auntie" to people here, they know she's a safe space.
outside of work, her focus is placed in multiple activities and events planning. is definitely one of those people you will literally see everywhere and have a hand in everything. she is a volunteer junkie.
is a very headstrong, reliable person who is comfortable in the life she’s set up. things are a particular way, she keeps things ship-shape. she places expectations on everyone, whether they’re aware of it or not.
very, very nosy. very, very judgmental. she is, however, painfully aware of this, so actively tries to conceal it as much as possible.
while she’s a closet romantic that simps for sweet moments in media and other people’s lives, ney believes she’s “realistic” in the approach to her own life. as in, she highkey doubts in love and thinks it’s exaggerated a lot, because she hasn’t experienced it herself.
this is, however, quite literally a causation of her own doing because she’s one of those people with an utterly ridiculous list that her partner must check off before she’ll even consider them seriously. a sabotage list. let’s just say, she’s had quite a few first dates only. and tbqh, she's quietly (and embarrassingly for her) one of those older virgins because she's seen too often what failed relationships can do to someone, which is scary. not to mention the very real problem of her own hangups with things being perfect as in, what if she's not?? and the anxiety of that has made her stand frozen in time to even take the smallest baby steps. at this stage in her life, she's essentially just hung herself up on a shelf as she's getting older and feels it's not really in the cards anymore. that's okay, she's got her pet turtle rupert to keep that 4-bedroom empty home alive.
open for everything! she definitely should have her 3 younger brothers (one may or may not possibly be in the worlds already i hear?!!?!?) and she's cousins with judge reynolds!! so family connections abound, puh-lease! also, she's a serial dater, as in she's asked a string of guys on dates -- most haven't gone past the first, few others lasted a few maybe, but it would be hilarious to have history with men she's asked out and blew off. or any future attempts even, come at her. i think she could come off intimidating and she's a bit of a hardass stickler type, but she means well, and it's in her nature to help. her faith in people is crazy, she doesn't like to give up on even the most hopeless of cases. point is, ney is meant to be a very connected person :D:D
have you seen ( Conor Atwood, he/him )? They look a lot like ( Matthew Daddario ). The ( 33 ) year old ( tattoo artist ) is so ( logical, calm, giving ) but I heard they can also be really ( standoffish, melancholy, cynical ). Can you believe they’ve been in town for ( two weeks after many years away )?! They live in the ( The Cove ) neighborhood and kind of remind me of ( towering redwoods, hot chocolate on a cold day, crashing waves, distant thunder ). If I was asked, I’d guess that they were ( most likely to succeed ) in their yearbook for the class of ( 2010 )

Relationship status: single
Occupation: tattoo artist
TW: car accident, death, child abandonment
Conor was born to a fairly well-known family in Carroll County. They weren't exceptionally rich or anything, but they were well-off, both of his parents being doctors. He also has an older sister.
In high school, Conor was a golden boy, good at most things while also kind and outgoing. He was well-liked overall, even by the groups that didn't typical take to the popular jock sorts - because there was much more to Conor than that.
While Carroll County is very much about football, Conor played soccer, but he was still well-respected for his skill on the field, even by people who thought they'd never be interested in soccer. Similarly, Conor was a good student and also skilled in art, though the scholarship he received was for soccer.
Conor's best friend was Evan, a star on the football field. Because of this, Evan was even more beloved in Carroll County. They were inseparable, always together. People often spoke of them in the same breath, thinking of them as a package deal. Their bond was admirable and envied.
Secretly though, Conor was in love with Evan. But Conor could never tell how Ethan felt. In their private moments, there was genuine affection and care...and possibly more. Conor would swear that there was something more there, something in the way Evan would look at him, but he could never bring himself to broach the subject - even after drunkenly making out more than once. He was scared to lose his friend.
Right before graduation, Conor and Evan were out. Conor was driving, but both teens were sober. There was something in the air that night, something that made Conor feel confident that things were about to change between them. Evan had never looked at him this way, with...well, with love. It was clear that night, even before he set his hand down on the center console between them in the car, his hand brushing against Conor's.
That simple touch was enough to electrify Conor, and he kept glancing over at Evan, both of them smiling, and then Evan started brushing his pinky finger against Conor's hand. Yes, things were going to change tonight, that much was certain as Conor found the courage to link their pinkies together.
Yes...things were about to change. One glance over at Evan was enough to miss the deer in the road soon enough where it would have made a difference. By the time Conor noticed, it was too late. He swerved to the side, hydroplaning on the wet road - of course that was the night of a rare rainstorm.
Everything happened so fast. One minute Conor was falling even more madly in love with his best friend, confident he felt the same way, and then the next his car was a mangled mess, wrapped around a large tree. Things changed indeed.
Although Conor was injured, he was the lucky one. Evan...was not as fortunate. At least Conor's last memory of Evan would be of the way he smiled at him. In the days since, the weeks and months and years, that has felt like both a blessing...and a curse.
Conor completely unraveled after this, which made sense to the residents of Carroll County, though they never knew the full extent of it. Conor never told anyone how he felt about Evan, not before or since.
The residents turned on Conor, whom they viewed as killing their beloved Evan. Even though Conor was not charged or held responsible, the court of public opinion found him guilty. And that plus losing Evan was too much to bear. So Conor left.
With no scholarship - the injury he'd sustained in the accident made sure of that - and with a broken heart, Conor left Carroll County, moving north. He hasn't been back since, and while he's seen his family outside of town, his relationship with his family has suffered, as have any lingering friendships.
For awhile, Conor drifted from job to job. While always a hard worker, nothing ever felt like a right fit. Actually nothing has felt right since losing Evan. Conor has become guarded and standoffish, not letting people in. However, it's a lonely existence, and it becoming harder to endure.
Wanting something more from his life, Conor decided to put his artistic skills to good use. He began an apprenticeship as a tattoo artist, and while it wasn't what he had in mind for his life, it felt right, or at least as right as anything could these days.
Just as he was finishing his apprenticeship, Conor received a call from Child Protective Services. His sister, facing her own troubles, disappeared with nothing but a note, leaving behind her young son. Although he had never had a real relationship with his nephew, Conor couldn't not step in. His parents had left Carroll County and now worked with Doctors Without Borders, leaving Conor as the only viable familial option for guardianship. And with so much of his nephew's life already in flux and falling apart, Conor couldn't bring himself to uproot the boy and take him from his home. He'd already lost so much, and Conor wasn't going to take one more thing from him. Conor knew what loss felt like.
So now Conor has returned to Carroll County even though he swore he never would, living in the same house he grew up in with his nephew. The house feels too big for just the two of them; perhaps that is one reason the chasm between them feels so wide.
Yes, Conor swore he'd never return to Carroll County, aware of his legacy, his infamy. He keeps to himself, unsure of how he's viewed these days, but not doubting there are at least some who still blame him for Evan's death. But no one could blame Conor as much as he blames himself.
Everything in Carroll County reminds Conor of what he's lost, but that's something he's just going to have to live with.
Wanted connections:
Former friends/classmates: Conor is a native of Carroll, so I would like more connections with people he went to school with
Friends/family of Evan: These would be people who still mourn Evan. While I would really like some who are antagonistic toward Conor and blame him, I also like the idea of someone who could bond with him over their loss
Friend/more than friend(?) from Northern California: Conor spent the last 14 years in Willow Creek, a town in Northern California, and he had some friends there. This could be someone he was close with strictly in a platonic way all the way up to there being romantic feelings involved or even a hookup. But they were never anything official

Joined the marines right after high school. During his time in the military, he started to smoke and hasn’t stopped. However, he tries to hide it. Very few people know about this habit of his.
Before the accident that caused his right leg to be amputated, Maverick would run every morning for an hour and often could be found at the gym or doing some sport activity.

Biography:
PAST:
Born only twelve minutes after his twin brother (something his twin loves pointing out), Maverick was the fourth child out of six in the Whitlock-Holmes family. Life was normal…or as normal as it could be growing up in a funeral home. Strangers were always coming in and going. From a young age, Maverick felt this urge to be the good child. After all, he saw his parents struggle and with six kids, the least he could do was not get in trouble. Perhaps it was that decision so young in life that led him to a life or high anxiety of pleasing people.
In school, Maverick excelled maintaining a 4.0 and played several sports such as football, baseball and wrestling. Overall, he was a social butterfly, never really having a set group of people he hung out with besides his twin brother. Most people in high school would have described him as a golden boy. He was known to help the elderly neighbors mow their grass, he did many volunteer jobs and was always the person you could ask for a favor…even to his detriment.
After high school, everyone thought he would go straight to college but he felt the need to serve this great nation he loved so much and joined the Marines. Little did he know the horrors he would witness overseas in the war. It left a lot of emotional wounds that he doesn’t speak about. After serving eight years, he returned home at the age of twenty-six and became a sheriff deputy. He figured it made sense and he could at least work on his college degree…although that never happened.
For years, he served Carroll County with no incident and a perfect record. That was at least until he started noticing things with his twin brother. Things that did not seem above board. Of course, he couldn’t just come out and ask Mickey. Instead, he tried investigating and working diligently to keep the other deputies away. This would lead to something unimaginable, while he was investigating he should have requested backup, but the urge to protect his brother Mickey clouded his judgment. Maverick doesn’t remember much, he just remembers laying there his head busted and this metallic taste in his mouth.
The doctor said he was lucky, he sure didn’t feel lucky when he woke up from surgery missing his right leg. How did this happen? He went to war and came back in one piece.
Maverick spent weeks healing then a few months doing physical therapy.
PRESENT
Just a week ago, Maverick returned home…although he hasn’t told anyone. Truth be told, he wants to remain invisible. The sweet golden boy was now shattered and something unknown has taken its place.

THE BIOGRAPHY
March was a native to Middleburg, Virginia. He grew up in the country surrounded by horses. His mother was a fox hunter and always supported his interest in riding. Although his father was often busy with work as a high profile attorney, he tried his best to spend time with March and his younger sister May. After attending the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta with his mother, March knew he wanted to be an Olympic Show Jumper. He told his parents that night in their hotel room that he never wanted anything more in his entire life. His parents decided against telling their four year old that he was in fact, only four so his statement didn't hold as much weight as he thought. Instead, they used their upperclass wealth to support his dreams. Over the next several years, March trained with some of the best riders the United States had to offer.
In high school, March’s parents went through an amicable divorce. The news came as a surprise to the two Carter children because their parents always seemed happy together. Their mother, a woman who came from old money and didn't need to work, moved her two kids with her to her hometown in Carroll, California. March started as the new kid at a brand new high school much to his dismay. He was painfully shy but tried his best.
Throughout high school, March continued his Olympic training by regularly traveling to the LA Equestrian center. After high school, March showed internationally with several big names in the equestrian business. Eventually, he went on to ride for the United States in Show Jumping. He earned several medals including gold.
At thirty, his horse had a tragic accident that led to his euthanasia. During the accident, March broke his left shoulder resulting in nerve damage. After his rehabilitation, March moved back to Carroll to be close to his mother. He retired as an Olympic rider but has since gone on to be an Olympic level coach.

Emily Powell grew up as the second child of Louise and Brad Powell in Carroll County. Always a bright and curious kid, Emily quickly discovered the endless world of the internet and immediately felt like she could conquer it all. From making online friends to playing games and obsessing over memes, she found herself immersed in the digital world. She admired people who made careers out of their online lives—especially those on YouTube—and dreamed of finding her own way to make a name for herself.
But Emily wasn’t interested in vlogging about her everyday life. To her, it felt too ordinary for a spotlight. It wasn’t until she enrolled at MIT that she stumbled upon something that really clicked: streaming. The idea of sharing her gaming experiences with others, interacting with people who had similar interests, felt like the perfect outlet for her creativity.
After graduating, Emily landed a job at Google, working in programming. She moved back to Carroll County and threw herself into her career, finding success and stability. But over time, what once felt like a dream job became just another routine. The spark of creativity that once drove her seemed to fade in the monotony of corporate life.
That's when she rediscovered streaming—this time, on Twitch. Streaming quickly became her escape, bringing joy and excitement back into her life. Still, the thought of quitting her high-paying job to pursue her passion full-time gives her pause. Emily is torn between the security of her steady job and the pull of doing what she truly loves, hoping one day she’ll find the courage to take the leap.
