“Clint, I KNOW you just stole all the mince pies.” Tony accuses, before dropping his voice. “Good job. I saw Thor eyeing them up earlier.”

💏
meme: fifty ways to kiss someone. send me a 💏 and i will randomise a number in order for my muse to kiss yours…result: …good morning.
Of all the Avengers, Natasha is the least demonstrative about her affections for the other members of the team. She is hesitant to put her hands on people, as if they’ll fall apart under her touch, as if everything she comes into contact with ends up cursed. Maybe she believes that, or maybe she just doesn’t feel comfortable with casual intimacy.
Each person has a different brand of it. Tony sprawls on people and gives out one-armed hugs and fist bumps like they’re going out of style. Steve lets his hands come to rest on people’s shoulders, over-conscious of his own strength, while Thor does the same without nearly as much restraint, resulting in more than a few bruises. Clint jabs people lightly with whatever is around, whether they be fingers or arrow shafts or pencils, and leans into their sides. The only ones who hold back almost completely are Nat and Bruce, and the latter gets all his casual contact from being around Tony anyway.
It’s not that Natasha doesn’t appreciate contact though, and that’s something Clint has learned over the years. She will not protest if he drags her into a swath of blankets to watch a movie, even if she does grumble about his cold feet, she will let him drape himself over her back while she works as long as he doesn’t fidget too much, she’ll even let him hold her close through nightmares, as long as they agree to it verbally first. He’s privileged in this way, the ability to initiate contact with her on whim, because they have a deeper understanding of each other than anyone on the team.
It’s only fair, then, that Clint should start to indoctrinate the others, to give Natasha a safe space to interact physically with other people. He doesn’t even do it consciously, just offers to share the covers with both Nat and Steve on one of their team movie nights, or drags her into petting Tony’s hair with him by raving about how soft it is. Slowly, she opens up, even if she’s still more hesitant around the others than she is around the archer.
(Which maybe selfishly, Clint doesn’t really mind.)
Missions come and go, and the Avengers aren’t always all in one place at any given time, but Clint and Nat are rarely apart. Their relationship is relatively indecipherable to other people, and they prefer to keep it that way, with Clint slyly bragging about it and Natasha making all manner of sarcastic remarks that land closer to flirting than anything else. It’s after a string of missions apart when they’re all back at the Tower again that Natasha comes down for breakfast and plants a firm kiss square on Clint’s lips. She continues on her way to the coffee machine, pouring herself a cup, and looking generally satisfied with life.
The peace of the kitchenette (along with the slightly stunned look on Clint’s face at the public display of affection) is broken by a sudden whooping noise from Tony. “I knew it! JARVIS, you better hang onto that recording forever, that was awesome!”
shit !!!
language !!! jarvis , what's the view from upstairs ???
the central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. strucker's technology is well beyond any other hydra base we've taken.
loki's scepter must be here. strucker couldn't mount this defense without it. at long last.
at long last is lasting a little long , boys.
yeah. i think we lost the element of surprise.
wait a second. no one else is going to deal with the fact that cap just said language ???
i know —————— it just slipped out.
THE AVENGERS™️
as penned by HANNAH , ANNIE , MIMI , & AMY.
@gcldenarcher is literally perfect. the portrayal of clint is so amazing and the mun is just the sweetest thing ever. hannah is one of the biggest fans of clint that i've met and that shines through in her portrayal of him. not to mention, stephen amell is the perfect fc for 616's clint.
congratulations, you’re a prophet!
"I am many things, A Doctor, or Master of the Mystic Arts, but I am no prophet, Clint. I can’t predict the future, I merely am able to look at possible outcomes. There are too many variables to completely predict what’s going to happen.”
