The Afro Acrylic on canvas 36 x 36 When I was growing up in upstate New York, we had four television channels. 6, 10, 13 and UHF. Every Sunday (like clockwork) I watched Soul Train. When Don Cornelius would have the people come down dancing a couple at a time, I would become very excited, it was my favorite part! That's when I saw a girl with a giant Afro and I've wanted one ever since. I have just a fascination with The Afro and the bigger, the better.
