Summary:

Dean/Cas high school AU involving them being friends for a long time and Castiel falling in love with Dean and knitting him a sweater.

Love in Every Stitch is a high school classic for me. If I think about it, it must be the first or the second high school AU I have read a long, long (long) time ago. And, because it’s quite short, the one I’ve revisted at least a few times.

It’s not really all that different from any of the other high school stories out there — Dean and Cas are high school students, neighbours, and friends. Cas spends all of his time with Dean and his family. Cas knows Dean dates a lot, even when he himself is not that interested in it. There is your typical teenage high school drama, the crushes, the prom, even the practice hand holding… and other things. The story is short and sweet and fluffy almost as much as Cas’ sweater is.

Unofficial Summary: Dean and Cas are happily living in John’s house, happy expect for the severe case of blue balls. One weekend, they finally consummate their relationship.

Comments: 10/10 this is adorable and so sweet. The first one has a tiny bit of angst, which is expected from all the pining Cas does. But the rest of them are pure unadulterated fluff. John is such a good father I want to cry, so accepting, so non-homophobic, so caring, I can’t believe it. The first one hits all the hallmarks of a high school au, the pining, the practice kiss, the climbing to his bedroom window, all the works. The second one contains some hilarious and really ridiculously adorable epilogues, I can’t get over how much I love this.

So yes. Consistency. I have legit reasons for Friday. I was volunteering at a festival - yay! So I got in late and had to lit fall into bed and sleep so that I could attempt to get somewhere near a reasonable nights sleep - I was up before 6 the next morning... 

So for Friday if have to go with Dirty Words by gedry and read by nia_nia. It's awesome, a/b/o hospital au fic. It's a comfort fic for me and nia_nia voice is awesome for falling asleep quickly too. 

 Through the last couple of days I've been listening my way through Of Bastard Saints by nilchance and beanside and read by grrli and embroiderama. So that will be Saturday's. It's pretty long and I finally got to the end, which man the scene where it's revealed who Andrew is is just so perfect and the implications just make me want another nine hours of that verse! Short summary: Dean has amnesia - probably of supernatural origins - and gets mixed up in the hospital for a drug dealer. Sam and John get told he's dead and what follows is a massive clusterfuck of untold secrets, powers that are not because of demons, binding of demons, the dead never actually staying dead. Also Dean being supremely confused re lack of memories and the mad skills in the areas of fighting, killing and staying of the radar. It's brilliant and Dean has the name Jason for a while. 

 And for today, there are a few I could do so I'll go for the entire 852 Prospect Archivist, for The Sentinel fandom, sorted by kudos. I'm working my way through it.

Summary: The 12 Steps tell you to keep it simple, but Dean Winchester has never been good at keeping anything simple.  So, with the help and support of the core people in his life he’s giving sobriety his best shot, which even on a good day is a struggle.  But as he works at it he makes progress and starts to rediscover himself, and maybe find love with the new guy next door.

Comments: This was actually really realistic (for someone who's never had any experience with drug recovery) without being saccharine or maudlin.  Dean and his recovery are actually interesting enough to carry this story even without Cas.  The relationship is a bonus.  They're really cute together and ultimately they're both good people and the support goes both ways.  A very positive fic overall, without sugar-coating the effects of addiction.  John is a douchenozzle.

Summary (written by me!): After the sudden passing of his wife, Dean and his twin boys move back to Dean’s hometown. He quickly becomes reacquainted with his childhood friend, Castiel, and finds that new love doesn’t lessen the importance of an old one.

I’m sitting on the Impala watching the stars tonight. Sam has a date with an actual girl. I swear it’s a miracle. I wonder sometimes Cas, if you’re close enough to me right now that you might be leaning back and staring at the same stars I’m seeing; like if you’re two towns over and close enough for me to drive to and I just don’t know it.It drives me crazy.
