So when will the next chapter of oats be up? Just an estimate, at least. As a fellow fanfic writer, I understand the hassle of due date issues. (Literally I have a fic that's been sitting in my docs for over 2 months.)

I honestly don’t know. Once the excitement or popularity of it died down, I stopped thinking of the plot. And people have asked for other things, so I was considering discontinuing it all together

What was going on in that Voltron scene you drew?

i’ll answer this for everyone to see since Voltron Force seems to be a really obscure series for some reason (and some context to my last post would probably be good), so don’t read if you’re avoiding spoilers!

the basic setup of this series is that the original team are training three new recruits to take over from them someday, but it’s always up in the air exactly who is going to be stepping down from the lions. allura eventually goes first so she can become queen of arus and not have to choose between her duties to the voltron force and her kingdom, then pidge follows suit because it turns out he’s been upgrading the castle defense system so rapidly that literally no one else can operate it if he’s out fighting with voltron, and he also feels that vince (the new green lion pilot) is overall a better asset to the team than he is. 

(both decisions to step down are very rational and in voltron’s best interests, but pidge’s is much more self-deprecating and makes it feel more like he’s been shoved into an awkward position and feeling inadequate rather than genuinely wanting to call it a day like allura does. i don’t know if it’s supposed to come across that way or if i’m just reading into the dialogue too much, but his cheerfulness about the whole thing seems way too fake considering the next scene)

the scene the redraw screencap is from is the first time they’re called to action after pidge and allura have given up their lions, so on instinct they start to their battle stations only to catch sight of the new pilots and remember this isn’t their thing any more. there’s an awkward “oh, right, sorry, we just--” exchange where the new pilots are embarrassed and the old pilots are ashamed, and it’s kinda sad considering it marks coming to terms with the end of an era for two of the original five :(

(and then they rip the entire castle out of the ground and turn it into a flying battleship, it’s kind of a wild series)

It was not. Any resemblance the Hunter has to characters from Check, Please! is coincidental. He isn’t meant to be based on anyone in that universe. :)
