I really love this couple :3
Solace
Hi! Since I decided that today was angsty thursday, here's a forgotten ficlet I wrote ages ago lol. Plan was to draw something to go with it but I failed.
Just an au where Zel dies and Mel left to the purgatory alone as Gelda and Elizabeth found eachother.
Again, special thanks to @galfridus1! I'm glad to have you around while I suffer from a major block. Love lots!
Warning:
Character death, with tears, angst and welll... more tears.
~~~
He was dead…
And she should have been as well.
However, here she was, after asking for death still standing under the light of the moon, tears dried on her cheeks. She had always known that living without him was pointless, he gave color to her dull life, and now that he was gone she was nothing but an empty canvas… white, boring, nothing, useless without the color of someone else to stain it.
She fell to her knees, memories with him returning, his voice, his smile, his lovely emerald eyes, had become too painful for her to bear. It was impossible to handle this, it was impossible not to break from the weight of those memories, especially at the sight of his grave as the man she loved lays six feet under the ground.
God damn did it hurt. She wished for a brief second that she could have been deprived of emotions in moments like this. She wanted to scream for feeling too much, the pain, grief, agony, frustration, she wanted to rip her heart out, she wanted it all gone, she wanted to die.
His brother had apologized for failing him, apologized for using her against him, but he had hoped he could bring them back together… he had hoped that perhaps his little brother would get the happiness he deserved with her. But he failed him. His father had ruined his plans and killed Zeldris for standing up against him.
She was in denial when the blonde told her he was dead, refusing to listen to him as she searched for him, thinking that it was impossible for someone as powerful as him was to die… but she wasn't hopeful, she was delusional. She knew herself that the Demon King was not capable of mercy even towards his own sons.
She had finally found him today…
And she wanted nothing but to join him.
She loved him so much, what was the point of them finding each other when they couldn't be together anyway?
"Lady Gelda?" Her head spun at the sound of the voice, and the first thing she could make out was the figure had silver hair and wings of pure white. As their eyes met, her wings slowly faded, the wind carrying the feathers away as she dispelled her magic.
She didn't know how she should respond to her presence, simply feeling the need to wipe her tears away before the goddess. Understanding her silence, Elizabeth stepped forward, Gelda later noticing the bundle of flowers wrapped around her arm as she settled them before the grave. For a moment, Gelda wished she had brought flowers for him, but her refusal to accept that he was dead didn't let her.
There was nothing but silence between them, the gush of the wind being the only sound around them as Elizabeth sat on the grass, just beside the vampire.
"I'm sorry…" the goddess muttered, not knowing what else to say, what else to do for a stranger who was obviously in pain. Sometimes she wished her magic could also heal hearts, because just like hers, her heart was equally in pain.
"I loved him so much…" The tears were falling again, and she hated that she couldn't stop them, hated that she did not know when she would be tired enough to stop crying.
Elizabeth somehow understood how much the vampire was hurting. Meliodas had departed for the demon realm and left her behind. She was here in the Britannia, vast space between her and the demon realm with nothing that could possibly connect them.
Yet at least… Meliodas was alive…
Zeldris wasn't…
The goddess had offered her shoulder to cry on, Gelda far too hurt to even consider that she barely knew Elizabeth. The goddess’ embrace felt warm, almost comforting as she burst into tears.
They stayed like that for a while, finding solace that they weren't alone for losing the men they loved, glad that they had somehow found one another that night.
NNT Pride Week 2019: DAY FOUR: GREEN // WISH
The grass they’re sat on is soft. Elizabeth is happy she brought Gelda here. A secret spot she uses to stargaze. A place she swore only to share with her soulmate.
A soft breeze, starlit sky, and her girlfriend by her side. Three ingredients for a perfect night.
“Elizabeth, look.” Elizabeth is brought out of her thoughts by Gelda’s soft-spoken voice.
“A shooting star, make a wish!” The excitement in Gelda’s voice is breathtaking. But Elizabeth doesn’t need to make a wish, as she already had everything she wanted.
“I already have you, what more can I wish for?”
