Madeira Citrine
幸運
Yes you can.
Rubies- passion and devotion. (Pretty horny rock, don’t give this one to someone you aren’t trying to get freaky with long term)
Diamonds- for endurances and clarity
Emeralds- communication and harmony
Rose quartz- unconditional love
Garnet- good for apologizing since it soothes the heart
Moon stone- it is good for rejuvenating love, falling back in love and it’s also believed that if two people are wearing it and meet under the full moon they will fall in love
Aventurine- good will for one’s relationship (could be a good luck gift at a wedding from friends)
Time for another "Tock the Gnome" world building post, dear readers!!
This week, we are starting to look at another aspect of Dwarven stone language - emotional meanings, much like the Gnomish flower language.

Summary: Thorin didn't think highly of hobbits until a little hobbit child wanted to become his friend. Thorin finds himself forever changed by Bilbo Baggins and the different shades of love Bilbo shares with him.
Dedication: For @lordoftherazzles
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I don’t know anything about flowers, Bilbo. Can you tell me what kind it is and what it means?”
“It’s a pink chrysanthemum. They’re happy flowers, but the pink ones mean ‘I want to be friends’.”
An unexpected well of affection burst inside Thorin at the kind gesture of the small hobbit. As a smile pulled across his face, he couldn’t help clearing Bilbo’s face of tears with the edge of his shirt despite his scrunched up face at the act.
“You know, when dwarves want to make friends…we use gems.” He mentioned off-handedly.
Bilbo perked up. “Gems?” He questioned.
“Little colorful, but valuable rocks. In fact for a situation like this, I would think dankhul quartz would be appropriate. It’s a cloudy green stone that reminds you of how your heart is connected to others.”
Bilbo gasped. “I think I know that one! Follow me!”
Without missing a beat, Bilbo had Thorin back on his feet, pulling insistently at Thorin’s hand as he led him towards the river. Thorin worried at what the other hobbits might think, but most of them seemed more amused than anything to see the dwarf bent double trying to keep up with the small energetic blur.
When they finally got to the edge, Bilbo had slowed down, seeming much more cautious around the water’s edge. Thorin kept close, ready to catch him if he fell in when Bilbo gasped, reaching down to pick up a stone.
“Dank-ell quartz!” He cried proudly.
Movie’s sentence 1 mostly broke-down
Hi, recently i’ve made some new work on the breaking down of GG, with a fresh mind and many new ideas. Chat GPT comes very handy when you get stuck in the thinking process. I don’t know if there are still people that even remember GG, nontheless i’ll share this first part for those who are still interested, because the internet deserves it (and don’t wanna be like S.Sugar who doesn’t). Hope to hook anyone else and not to scare anyone with the grammatical concepts. Opinions are welcome.
Expect more works in this format in the future, maybe...
So I just finished working on this a few days ago! Since the comic is going to be set mostly on Homeworld and Homeworld locations, I needed to use Gem language for certain locations since English isn’t widely used on Homeworld, mostly just on Earth. But I didn’t want to put up random letters up on buildings and structure. And since Lady Sugar isn’t going to reveal that secret to us, I decided to do some research.
Thankfully, tumblr user @simplegeoffs managed to translate a good portion of the Lower Case alphabet so that was half of the work done for me. Not a lot of info on the upper case but through doing my own research and just straight up guessing (lol), I came up with what I hope to be a cohesive Homeworld Gem Glyph chart. I the true translations come out in the future then I’ll just write it off as “different universe, constants and variables, etc etc.”
As for an update on things: I’ve finished the outline for the first arc of the comic and I’m going to be working on sketching it out. I’ll give you guys an ETA as I progress.
Did you make your own version of the gem language? If you did, how does it work? Is it more like japanese or english? I'm just asking because I made my own, and I'm curious. ^^||
I did not, in fact, make my own version - when I use gem language I mostly use the glyphs we know to have a specific meaning, taken from show screenshots and various analysis. The rest I fudge. I know it’s not very scientific, but I simply don’t have the time to fully develop a conlang (or er... rather... a second conlang. I already am working on my own.)
(if I did make a gem conlang to fit in with the lore, I think I’d use Japanese as a base over English, because that’s how it seems to function in canon universe, but then again, I’m biased.)
love how he still signs his name with a star
