Deep breaths, Holly reminded herself as the ship landed. She kept herself straightened out, looking forward and up when the doors of the ship opened. First, there was a ruby that came out followed by a sapphire, a combination that put a sour taste in her mouth. That taste was quick to fade though when Dragon made her appearance besides her pearl.
Her glare truly was terrifying, and it lingered on Holly for at least a minute. When it did, Holly did her best to not heed to it, standing tall and firm despite the churning nerves that curled deep within her chest.
Other agates had always made Holly somehow feel smaller, less significant. That was how it had been during the Rebellion. They had all been more aggressive than her, carrying more military experience than she could ever hope to have. She seldom interacted with them throughout the past millennia. Blue Diamond trusted her, yet not enough to avoid holding an inspection every once in awhile.
Holly had to focus on passing now, that was all.
Immediately, an insult arose from Dragon when she came down from the ship and came forward. Holly stood tall and led her, waving her hand for the amethysts to open the doors. They did so without hesitating, now deathly quiet and obedient.
“I assure you, Dragon Vein Agate, that despite my size, everything here is perfectly in order, as you will come to see,” Holly replied, voice unnervingly steady as she led them all, continuing, “My quartzes, despite their origins, have grown to be very efficient as well, and the humans are well taken care of... I will let you be the judge of all of that though, I am simply heeding you in advance.”
