there’s a short story in from a certain point of view, of mse-6 and men, about the relationship between stormtrooper tk-421 and an imperial officer. the imperial officer is not actually named, but seems heavily implied to be tarkin, and by what he’s been posting on twitter, the author certainly seems to have intended him to be

Hurt/comfort?

Possibly my favourite trope OF ALL TIME. I tend to prefer it light on the hurt, heavy on the comfort, but I’ll take it any way it comes.

In terms of writing, I more often end up writing comfort following a difficult decision or a long day than actual hurt, physical or emotional, but a couple that definitely fit are Morning Follows (a post-Best of Both Worlds Picard & Crusher fic) and Days (a story exploring Janeway and Tuvok’s friendship early in canon.)

Makes sense! It’s why I don’t like the Palpatine theory, actually—I mean, the other way around. I’m pretty viscerally :|||| about female characters getting sacrificed in service to the continued life of a male character, and that’s like ... peak man’s torment sucks the life out of a woman. Each to their own squick!
