The important thing to remember is that the rail strike will have significant long-term impacts, and the true impact will not necessarily be felt in the immediate aftermath. while it may seem unimportant now, this will have a monumental impact on the US economy and send the US further into a recession.

Prepare, but remember that it doesn’t have to be this way if we support our workers and advocate for a fair and just labor movement.

A recession is incoming, but the good news is that many large companies have to warn you 60 days before through the WARN Act.

The unfortunate part is that they don't have to be clear about how they warn you.

Maybe we could change Christmas to Happy Family Winter Holiday? Then make it a week of a national holiday where work starts at noon and everything is closed the following weekend to the next Sunday.

Also make every Sunday the non-denominational day of rest where everyone gets the entire day off or at least everything is closed till noon.

It's not so much that the 5 day work week is unhealthy. It is just that it forces people to "work" at life chores, when they should be resting. It also pushes them out into the hectic world on days of rest so they can catch up.

This is one of the radical things people never expect when moving to the South by Southwest (and in rural areas.). We have strict 5 day work weeks and Sundays are no work days for most.
