I wonder where people got the idea that Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf are the only people who ever reincarnate in Legend of Zelda, when that's so clearly not the case

Dunno if I can cover all of them in one reply, so I hope you don’t mind me picking out one instead ^^;

So, the one I’ll pick is:

- Scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)

There’s a lotta characters that could fit here depending on your definition, but I gotta mention Spirit Tracks!Zelda, because she is so good

She is already adorable on her own, but I love how they use her Phantom form to highlight her attitude by contrasting it with that imposing figure.

And aside from that, her dynamic with Link also involves so much showing off about how they really are just two kids - they’re both just precious together.

Incarnations of Zelda also tend to feel a little, uh, “lost” for the lack of a better term, they often have huge responsibilities while also getting belittled, etc. - and Spirit Tracks Zelda gets an especially large heap of that, which only feels harsher because of how young she is.

Plus kinda living in the shadow of Tetra, who is considered one of the strongest “Zeldas” in fandom, and probably in-universe too, in a way.

So you really just wanna swoop in there and help her somehow, she should get to be a kid, dang it!

I also have a special place in my heart for Bunny Link, because, it’s Link as a bunny, come on.

This was one of the first Links I felt confident drawing, back when I started doing fanart I’d actually post more often, so a lotta nostalgia for that one, too.

And to resist going on, I just wanna mention one more guy, which is Cuscus from the Ran Maru Adventure of Link manga adaption (yes, this again.)

He’s just one of my favorite designs and characters from that one, what a good lad.

I realize in hindsight that I'm pretty bad at naming faves of any kind, but I'll try

-Blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)

Phew, well I guess it'd have to be Chancellor Cole? I guess just by nature he'd have some poor little meow meow and glup shitto energy too, but I can't deny the fact that I've prolly thought about him the most?

And well, of course he's kinda my scrimblo bimblo, too

And another slightly less underrated blorbo I oughta mention is Vaati, I guess, he gets pretty close to Cole.

As for a more standard blorbo, I also spend a lot of time thinking about OoT!Link, but I barely ever talk about him, cause like, well, everybody is always saying everything that could possibly be said about him anyway, so the thought of even attempting to add to the convo feels overwhelming.

So I just think about him in silence.

Building an entire headcanon/AU-verse that is slowly being unrecognizeable compared to the source material.

- Scrimblo Bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)

Like I said above, Cole could probably fill this role, too. I think it’s notable that even among fans of Spirit Tracks specifically, Cole tends to be unpopular. (But hey, it depends!)

Vaati also can generally feel this way, because even among fans of his, a lot of it is mostly based on Minish Cap and/or Himekawa’s portrayal, and I personally lean more into the whole package of him, if that makes sense. (But I don’t take issues with others liking what they like!)

But man, it’s hard to say, cause a lotta characters are gonna have likers and dislikers, and especially in Zelda people have such strong opinions, you’re rarely gonna feel like a character you like gets the “proper” respect, so to speak.

I guess I gotta give a special shout-out to my man Demise here, a character I really like, but for whom I’ve rarely see anything but disdain. (But that could easily be on me for lack of trying to find anything.)

You could argue that there isn’t much substance to Demise outside of things you can imagine yourself when reading between lines and interpreting stuff to suit your needs, but I feel the same holds true for many other, greatly beloved characters in franchise (a lot of Zelda can be like that by nature).

So I think Demise kinda doesn’t deserve some of the bad rep he gets in that regard. (But it’s still cool if you dislike him!)

I could talk about him a lot, but perhaps it’s best if I didn’t :^P

I’ll also take that manga bait and mention: Watt!

Link’s companion from the Ran Maru Zelda manga is a really fun character, who I think deserves to be more well-known as one of the cool manga-only characters.

I don’t know if he was the first time Link was ever depicted with a companion (and I wouldn’t wonder if he wasn’t), but he’s pretty great, especially for a character who was created pre-Adventure of Link.

As a more cynical and materialistic foil to Link, he almost feels similar to some of the post-Navi companions who joined Link later on in the games.

And those are often praised for their more stand-out personalities (and I don’t really disagree), but it’s funny to see how Watt did a lot of that in the 80s already.
