Tullus sighed and put his feet up on Javert’s desk as if he belonged there. “Oh, yes, I know, thank you. But while I’m here, I might as well tell you. Neither of us are leaving here anytime soon.” He grinned charmingly and winked at him, then glanced down at his handcuffs. As per usual, he had lost it and gotten into a fight and stabbed somebody, and now he was in trouble for it. He wasn’t facing execution, since the person hadn’t died, but he was still not quite off the hook.
Javert's eyes met the feet upon his desk with a cold glare. He was about to utter a remark, but wanted to see it the man was brave enough to try him any further. He did seem of the aggravating type — not uncommon visitors to the Prefecture. Instead of scolding the man, Javert merely chewed the inside of his lip impatiently.
“ — As I said before, monsieur, I will not help you with your issues. While it is true that we shall both be here for some time, I can ignore you if I so choose.” Ignoring people was one of the Inspector's fortes, and he was thankful was he was given a legitimate reason to use his talent. He didn't know why, but it was merely so pleasing to be able to block out all the annoying chatter that came upon his ears.
