Si hicieras lo bueno, podrías levantar la cara; pero como no lo haces, el pecado está esperando el momento de dominarte. «Sin embargo, tú puedes dominarlo a él.»

In this episode, from the reading of Genesis 4, I explore the profound impact of Adam and Eve's disobedience on the lives of their sons, Cain and Abel. * I will discuss how quickly their sinful nature developed and disrupted their lives. * It is important to give God our best with the right intentions. * How can we learn from our mistakes and the mistakes of others to help us avoid repeating the same errors in life? * What may seem like minor sins can grow out of control, disrupting our lives. * How we have a God who is there to guide our lives. As the scripture says, 'All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.' This emphasizes the value and wisdom that can be gleaned from the scriptures. ~2 Timothy 3:16 "For whatsoever things were written a foretime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures, might have hope." ~Romans 15:4

Genesis 4
Abel’s Offering or Cain’s Offering?
Genesis 4 records a very important part of God’s character. The story goes by telling us that Cain and Abel offered their offerings to God. But God only “regard” Abel’s offerings but not Cain’s. Why? Both offered something. When I first read it, I go, yes, both of them offered You something God. One is working on ground, he is probably doing hard labors, fruits, vegetations, and probably some nice flowers too. One is as a keeper of sheep, but shepherding, he offered God some milk, some skin, but the keyword here is actually “firstborn”
In the course of time Cain brought to the LORD an offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. (verse 3~4)
Up to this point, Adam & Eve didn’t teach them anything about offering your firstborn, your first fruits to God as an offering. I can see that out of Abel’s humility and worship, he knows that what he was governing is only able through God. And only He can provide him such privilege to work and shepherd the sheep. Out of thanksgiving, he offered God not just anything, he offered God the best, part of his firstborn. I actually read and looked into lambing(the process of how ewe gives birth, it’s actually not as easy). There are lots of complications, death during giving birth, that’s why shepherd are crucial in knowing their ewe, and help and assist the lambing process.
So interesting right? I wonder how hard it is for one lamb to give birth to one sheep, and Abel was probably witnessed and assisted the whole process and learn that life is given by God and only Him can provide such beautiful life. That’s why when he offered up his offering, it wasn’t from a place of defeat or struggle, but it was in faith. Only faith can move our Father’s heart. And with that God was moved by Abel’s offering. What’s the offering you are giving to God right now? By typing this out, I can clearly see that God is pointing us to Christ once again. His one and only Son, He sent Him down for us, for our sins. So that we can all have this relationship with God when we trust in Him. This really humbles me. Cain was angry, and he killed Abel. Instead of grieving and regretting for losing his brother, the sin of comparison and the sin itself blinds Cain from seeing his true state? Sounds similar right? Sounds just like this,
Jesus Is Mocked
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's headquarters, and they gathered the whole battalion before him. 28 And they stripped him and put ja scarlet robe on him,29 and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 30 And they spit on him and took the reed and struck him on the head. 31 And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe and put his own clothes on him and led him away to crucify him.
39 And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads 40 and saying, “You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”
This is true reality of our sin. Our sin is the one that put Christ on that cross. History. It’s all recorded in our history now. We have a saviour that was just like that firstborn offering, being offered to God from Abel. This is all about Jesus! Our Messiah! Our Saviour! Our Prince of Peace! Our Victor!
Thank you Christ.
Amen
