in Her Sweet Kiss, the singer uses a variety of pronouns, including the royal ‘they’, i/me, she/her, and ‘you’. he seems to be addressing someone in the song, referring to them repeatedly as ‘love’ or ‘my love’, but he also describe an alluring yet dangerous woman, whom he is in love with. on the surface, it is easy to conflate these two beings—the ‘her’ of ‘her sweet kiss’ and the singer’s ‘love’—but, in another interpretation, the differing pronouns indicate the existence of two separate people. therefore, one could assume the singer is in love with both the person he is singing to, and the person he is singing about. furthermore, it is implied the person being sung to is also in love with the woman of the song, creating a love triangle of sorts. in this essay i will—
