Does anyone remember the piles of bodies? It has happened many times throughout history. They had to burn them to keep the numbers down. One small, concentrated area of the world. I had slowed down. I watched. I wanted a taste of it. A taste of what I could do if I wanted to.
This is why a am worshiped. This is why I am fed praise and offered sacrifices of flesh. I am decay. I control the dead. Humans, animals, plants, microorganisms. People fear what would happen if I was angry. So they pray to me. They grovel before me like maggots in the dust. Because they believe I'll wipe them out with the flick of my wrist if I so desired.
I could too. I could stop the decay right when they needed it most. War. Epidemic.
They wouldn't be able to burn the corpses fast enough. Not only that but I, the God of Necromancy would have an ever growing army. unstoppable by mortal hands. Every solider my army brought down would swell my own ranks.
I am worshiped as an important part of the circle of life on earth, as a master of black magic, and as atick tick tick ticking timebomb of the Apocalypse.
My only real opposition would be other Gods and spirits and few of them can harm me. Few of those that can know how.
I fear only one woman, one man, and one shapeless entity. They are all that would stand in the way of my fury...
I hold my head high, I keep my chin up because I've been there before I've done similar acts. I know myself.
