(Now that I drew them properly, I'll say I really like their designs. Especially the half Naberius & half Rhine clashing together, while all the original shades seem to have similar pale, flowy hair, golden eyes, and colorful hands. Though I'd still say Eldritch gods design would've always won, but oh well. This is HoYo)

this has been a very "trust the process" sort of painty thingy for me. let the wind lead. let the wind delete all of my attempts at clean linework. let the wind randomly drag in his dragon son friend. let the wind decide that it doesn't want me to work on it anymore. all cool with me

the second one is totally super based on the fifth one in this series of really pretty Deemo illustrations by DOM - wasn't on purpose and had a moment of realization like "waait a minute i know exactly where my mind got this composition/pose from"

Negativity aside, I am very interested in how Istaroth acts in the trailer. She acts really... sleepy. Low energy. Venti mysteriously falls asleep for centuries on end. We don't know why. Venti is against gods controlling humans. He has aided humans in overthrowing a god before. Istaroth helps civilizations that the rest of Celestia harms or ignores. The other shades don't like that. She starts regrowing the tree struck down by Ronova. There is something here. I don't know if Genshin is doing it intentionally.

Istg if Hoyo only drops Venti and Istaroth's lore through vague hints like this for the rest of the game I'm going to be so mad (they are very much going to do that)
