gentleheartcd asked: Send me 🛁 for a starter of my character just out of the shower/bath ( joria! )
"You're seriously not going to tell me where we're going?" Victoria had been doing her best to get an answer out of John all afternoon. She'd even gone as far as to deny him the chance to shower with her if he didn't at least reveal a hint to tide her over. Unfortunately, he'd somehow been able to resist, and now here they were.
"You know, maybe I don't want to go anymore," she shrugged from her spot in the doorway, clad in a towel with a blow-dryer in hand to begin styling damp blonde hair. Pout was evident, as if it was one final way to attempt to manipulate him into giving up some vital information. "Maybe I just want to curl up on the couch in my pajamas and pig out on popcorn and binge watch something on Netflix."
“they’re counting on me.” alex to adam
“Yeah, but they’ll understand if you need to take time off.” Adam was big on self-healing. He went through a dark time before, and if he hadn’t stepped away, he probably would have hurt a lot of people he cared about. He’d been moody and defensive--not wanting to admit he was having a hard time. It’d been only a matter of time he’d explode on someone--and that wasn’t the kind of guy he was. Of course, that was him, and this was Alex. There was still a lot he didn’t know about him, but he was trying. Now, as Alex was trying to defend his decision, Adam wasn’t buying it yet. “I’m just saying, sometimes it’s okay to take personal days.”
🌷 a time my muse said they loved yours. Adam and Alex
As they played monkey in the middle with Loki, Adam couldn’t help but smile inwardly. The ball is thrown to Alex, while Loki jumped to try to intercept, but was unsuccessful. He proceeded to paw him so he could get the ball. Adam liked the simplicity of this and the fact that he had a family now when he thought he was alone. While his meeting with his father was not the best thing in the world, he could live with that. While Alex and Alan were both strangers...something felt harder to connect with his birth father. Was it duty? Loyalty? He wasn’t sure. Maybe one day he’d get there. But that wasn’t now. With his brother? It was a cleaner slate. As they finished up playing ball with the dog, he sat on one the benches and took out a poppable dog bowl for Loki. Filling it up with a bottle of water, he looked over at Alex. “At the risk of sounding way too emotional for a rare sunny day in Chicago...” he laughed. “I gotta say I love having you in my life man. I do. I mean I have people in my life, but I’ve been searchin’ for something ever since my mom passed. Maybe even before, I don’t know. But I’ve been feeling more like me since we’ve buried the hatchet-- so thank you.”
“ are you sure that’ll work ? “ elyse to adam
Adam scratched his head. He wasn’t sure but the concept made sense They had enough land, and with the right contractor, it could be done. “I suppose we could. I’m no architect but we hardly use the back patio and if we get the right contractor I’m sure it’ll work.” But he was pretty sure he’d have to contact the city for permits. “Maybe Casey could help. Alex mentioned he’s a pro at these things. “ he smiled encouragingly. “If you want to be a third partner, Will and I would be lucky to have you until you get your feet on the ground. So, all this is very very possible. If you want it.”
“You’re always there for me.” adam from elyse
Adam smiled warmly at his co-worker and friend. “Of course I am. You mean a lot to me,” he brought her in for a hug. Elyse was usually sweet, but somehow by the way she was saying her words, he could swear something was going on. “Is there something else going on, you want to tell me?” he asked. Wondering if it had anything to do with the big changes in her life. “You know I don’t judge. You can vent.”
[ 📞 ] ‘ i need your help. ’ from alex to adam
It was 2:30 am and his phone was ringing. Nothing good ever happened after 1 am. He stumbled in the dark, for his phone on the nightstand. It was Alex. He picked it up quickly, “Hey---” as soon as he heard ‘help,’ he shot straight up. “Yeah-sure sure. Of course. Are you okay?” Adam got up from bed, and put his shoes on. Walking through the apartment to get his keys and a jacket. He was ready to come to his brother’s rescue.
“I know what you need. Hold on.” from elyse to adam
Adam had a migraine at the office today. He hasn’t had one of those in a long time. There was a lot of change happening. A part of him even though of taking another sabbatical. William could manage the practice easily--that wasn’t even in question. But for now, he thought going to work would distract him. But he just couldn’t disconnect. He had a brief encounter with his birth father, and then proceeded to leave. He knew he could have given him more time, but there was only so much he could take at once. Massaging his temples he nodded at Elyse’s words. “Okay. Thank you.”
