Shattered Mirrors

The year is forty one seventy three and the world is far from what it used to be. A once thriving planet of new invention suddenly thrust into a dark medieval world that takes more than it gives. Everyone fights for survival but those who are smart lead their lives within a territory, protected by one king who has the final say. Aurelius was one of these kings even though many believed him to be simply mad. Yet he ruled as one of the most gentle and giving king's anyone had encountered. His rules were fair and he made sure everyone was provided for despite the rationing that was needed. Within his territory there was no tolerance for violence or crime, his sons Godwin and Oliviero enforced this. Though they themselves questioned their father’s sanity they still trusted his judgement, he would not lead them to any destructive ends. He was merely lost within his own jumbled mind. The loss of his mate was something that had taken its toll on the old Roman. She had merely vanished overnight and he had spent the next thousand years searching for her. It was only in the last five hundred years that he had simply let his mind go. The two sons witnessed the shift in their father, slowly watching him slip into himself. So in honor of him they kept looking for their father’s lost mate. Never truly knowing or believing if they would find her but something told them to keep looking. 

“Father, we are heading out. Do you require anything?” asked the eldest son Godwin, placing a gentle hand on his father’s right shoulder. 

“I require a cheeseburger that would be heavenly. Haven’t had one in years.”

A soft chuckle fell from the youngest son’s mouth. “I can’t deny that would be rather tasty. We will do our best.” Oliverio said with a slight bow towards his father. 

Smiles were shared between them all yet not before long the king was back to muttering his nonsensical ramblings, pacing the great hall with his head down and hands moving about as if he was speaking to another. The sons soon lost their smiles when they realised that he was back in his mind again. They left the hall and headed for the stables where they saddled up their respective horses for the long journey ahead. 

The road outside the territory was a dangerous one but not one they had not travelled before. They steadily made their way to their first usual stop which was that of a small town, whose inn always welcomed travellers. Being the regulars that they were, the two brothers sat in the inn’s pub, drinking down the pints that had been given to them. 

“Where should we check next?” Oliviero muttered into his pint glass before finishing it off. 

“I was thinking east over the grasslands, we should try and make it to the next Territory in two days.” 

“Works for me.” He groaned as he looked over his empty glass. “I need another, I’ll be back.” He ross from his seat and steadily made his way over to the bar where a fight had erupted. A female was throwing some pretty good punches at the three men surrounding her. Oliviero stopped when he thought he had recognized her. His eyes narrowed in and he stepped forward nearly getting himself hit by one of the crowd that had circled around the chaos. It took him a few seconds before his mind clicked into gear. He dropped his pint and scrambled back over to his brother, practically tearing him from his seat. “OLIVIER-”

“SHUT UP! YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!” The youngest brother giddly shouted as he took Godwin over to the chaos of the fight that was happening. “Tell me what you see.”

“Oli-”

“No. Look.” Oliverio snapped. 

Godwin sighed and looked over to the punches being thrown between persons. Nothing spectacular caught his eye till he started to look the woman over with more detail. Her clothes were that of the two thousands era and her hair and scent seemed familiar to him. His mind raced as he stepped forward taking out the last of the assailants before placing a hand on the woman’s shoulder. It had been over a thousand years how could she even be here? He steadily turned her to face him and it took everything in him not to cry out in shock. “M-Melinda?”

“Honestly it’s a wonder most of us are alive Melinda.” He said, shrugging. “I think it has something to do with the family stubbornness.”

Do you have a special/main Wyatt and Melinda you roleplay with. I'd would love to see your threads and your chris is just wow.

My main Wyatt, and I have to say one of the best roleplayers out there, is @humanrayofsunshine . So much love for Wy and the portrayal is amazing. You should really go and check the blog out, plus you will meet a very nice Mun. Sunny’s one of the kindest people out there and if you like what she’s writing, she also has a very great OC to check out.

As for Melinda roleplayers, I don’t have a main one. But I can give you a few great ones I always enjoy writing with immensely. Those would be @namedforthefirst and @gentlejudgement
