Ellie had spotted her right away. How could she forget Beatrice, one of her first intense crushes. Of course there had been no way that Beatrice would have seen her that way at the time. The younger sibling of a friend who was some teenager she helped look out for. But now Ellie was a woman. Sure she didn't really do much more than attend events like the one they were at that evening, mingling and helping make connects for her father. But she was someone who Beatrice could take seriously now. Ellie was used to getting what she wanted and currently that was Beatrice. It didn't matter that the older blonde was on the arm of some painfully dull man. Some politician or businessman, Ellie hadn't bothered to remember when he introduced himself, focused instead on his date. It took a couple glasses of champagne before Ellie was finally able to truly have her moment with Beatrice, both of them in the bathroom.
"God I'm sorry your date would put anyone to sleep. He's only getting attention because of you. I mean you look incredible tonight," Ellie said stepping into Beatrice's space and giving her a once over. "Not that I'm surprised. You always did look amazing." She touched at the other woman's arm and smiled softly. "Hey. It's been a while." Ellie wasn't about to bring up everything about their past while they mingled with everyone else, but for the moment they were alone and she hoped to take advantage of that.
