Camsite Country Blocking - Yes it works & No it does not! Let me explain what Camsite Country Blocking is: Geo-restriction or Country-blocking is a way to restrict access to a certain Domain from a geographic location which means if you are in Spain and you want to block access to users from Italy, you just block the complete country from accessing your site. Camsite Country Blocking is the normal and regular way which works perfectly. So don't worry that if you are streaming from Spain and you don't want people in Spain see you on a specific site, they will not due to the Geo-blocking. The easiest way to try this yourself is if you go to the site, search for your model name and try to access the room or profile, It should tell you that this room or profile can not be accessed from your location! Perfect or not ?
Ok, that's all good up to here. Let's say, someone in your Country "Spain" uses something like: a VPN to connect
a VPS to connect
a Proxy Server to connect
a Tor connection
Ok, most people do not really know what those things are but due to more and more regulations, security issues, be safe on the internet and so on, people getting aware of those services but still, good services cost money and that's the next blocking point to subscribe to one of them. Ok sure there are free services like Tor, free VPN or free Proxy but for sure they will not use them after a try due to the restricted usage or slow bandwidth. Try to look at a stream from a slow connection :-( The most common once are the VPN Servers were you can sign up for already a couple of $ or € per month and all they do is to reroute the traffic from their original location to another server at a different location in the world. That's it, so now the PC, Laptop, Tablet or Hand phone is connected from Spain to - for example Italy - and Italy is not in your Geo-block list! In other words - the Person in Spain is now in Italy and can access your room! Fact is!
Bad or not Bad for the Camsite country blocking - I really don't know and there is nothing to add. The thing is and if you want to stay safe, the person would have to know your username and the site you are on - that's the only way they can find you. Another way is just pure luck to find a picture of you on the web, but that's like a 5/6 correct numbers in Lotto or finding a needle in a haystack. Also, I find it really stupid of some Model Studios or Agents to give comments like "Not even VPN's or proxy servers can bypass this Geo-blocking feature" ... which is complete untrue and in other words bullsh...! Or? Ok they could if they block every country in the world! ... but who would see them than - LOL. If you want to protect yourself - Geo-blocking is the way to go, stay safe and don't speak about your work. Just remember that you are Online and Online does not forget!
