After George partly recovered, he continued to paint, often aided by a powerful eyeglass, working up close. - Artist Biography George Armfield was born in London in 1808. He was one of the most prolific dog painters of the nineteenth century. He was a painter with a focus on hunt scenes and animals, most notably, dogs. He also painted landscapes.
