Dea Dia

I recently shot a surrealist still life project for Dea Dia, a designer who migrated from New York to Portland only a little bit before I did. 

The concept was inspired by the shape and architecture of the jewelry itself, as well as my recent obsession with the Cosmos series (think gravity and celestial spheres), brought to fruition with a combination of patience, fishing line, and post production.

The Smith River cascades through the Pacific Coast Range. It's blue-green waters, a mirror of the world of giant trees that surround it. This vista offered a moment to reflect upon natures simple perfection in an increasingly uncertain world.

Midcentury Motel Heaven

The Curly motel in Crescent City claims to be built from one redwood tree. They haven't touched the furniture in over 60 years...
