Winter Still Life #1

As good weather and the joyous feelings that come with it approach, I’ve begun a still life series of the objects I collected this winter. For me, it was important to memorialize these objects, which have become symbolic of my loss and personal struggle during my first full winter in the Northwest. This is the first in the series.

Dea Dia

I recently shot a surrealist still life project for Dea Dia, a designer who migrated from New York to Portland only a little bit before I did. 

The concept was inspired by the shape and architecture of the jewelry itself, as well as my recent obsession with the Cosmos series (think gravity and celestial spheres), brought to fruition with a combination of patience, fishing line, and post production.
