Wait & Meet
The crew on a westbound job on the Baltimore & Ohio in southern Indiana (former Ohio & Mississippi) waits at the west end of Georgia Siding. Not too much later, an eastbound manifest blasts by.
The lead locomotive on the waiting train, number 6900, is the class unit for the road’s GP30s; this locale is just west of Mitchell, Indiana. The doll arm on the signal mast tells us that the signal governs the main, not the siding that holds the westbound waiting train. [There is most likely a dwarf signal for the siding, which we can’t see here.]
