In anticipation of the upcoming Byrd Over Staten project in tribute to the musical genius of Donald Byrd, the creators of SHAOLIN JAZZ are releasing a 2nd single from the EP entitled “The Shimmey Roll”.  It’s a bass and piano driven track featuring the late Ol' Dirty Bastard in rare form rhyming over a jazz tune featured on Byrd's Slow Drag album.   R.I.P. Mr. Byrd and ODB!

Shaolin Jazz.  Gerald Watson and DJ 2-Tone put various Wu-Tang acapellas and sampling over Bobbi Humphrey's 1973 afro-jazz album "Blacks and Blues".  The result is pretty fucking excellent.

The Shaolin Jazz Project team - DJ 2-Tone Jones & Gerald C Watson II - had the idea of producing customized skits for the happy hour based on the skits featured on some of Redman's albums. Check out the 1st skeaser (.....that's skit + teaser, or whatever else you think it may be).
