Anyone who knows me knows I hold Mr. Gerald D. Hines in the highest esteem, in the Real Estate development realm. I’ve toured many of his buildings here in Houston, and most recently, around the World. I am very excited to present my followers with an epitome of sorts, where many things fall into place for what could be dubbed *redevelopment perfection*. . . I had already been highly impressed by the eclectic and unique La Colombe d’Or Hotel in Montrose (especially with the 10-seat dining tables within a few of the suites), along with the fantastic ball room with beautiful parquet floors, so upon learning that it would “merge” with a 34-story apartment and hotel tower designed by Munoz + Albin @munozalbinarchitecture and developed by @hines was only music to my ears. . . This mixed-use development will elevate Montrose to a new level, and will be a formidable destination for sophisticated travelers and architecture/development enthusiasts the world over. I can’t wait to enjoy the walkway uniting the old house with the tower, or chilling in the Aqua Lounge. Don’t know the Zimmermans’ personally, but WOW- good eye on the property to begin with, and good eye with the partnership with Hines!! . . I can comfortably say this will probably be *the coolest* mixed-use property in all of Houston, for many years to come. Maybe I’ll develop a cooler one, one day :) . . Yesterday's tour of public art in downtown Houston was phenomenal. So many amazing pieces... Here pictured is a Miró sculpture, across the entrance from I.M. Pei's J.P.
