sometimes i feel soooo perfomative about how big of a part of my identity revolves about being from east germany. girl, you were born over a decade after the reunification get over it. but also i can't because it feels a little like letting the nazis win and proving west germans who for some reason still think badly about the east right if i don't bring it up every five seconds.
