Hey sorry yeah, I know I said I was coming back tonight but I might skip town for a few days--no no I'm not in trouble. They let me go. Kinda unceremoniously really. Dropped me at a gas station. Kassandra does not concern herself with the gods.

She doesn't need to. Not when every trial she's faced has been dealt with by her own hand, with no help, for as long as she could remember.

She doesn't want to. Not when so many of those trials wouldn't have happened if humans had chosen not to act on behalf of the gods.

So, despite the grating debates with philosophers at symposiums and the unrelenting lectures from her mother at family dinners, Kassandra has decided: no gods. No thanks.

That is, until she's faced with beautiful people.

Because when it comes to matters of the heart, Kassandra is— to be frank— completely daft; something you're quite tickled to learn when she walks up to you one evening at a military camp in Lokris the day before your campaign begins.

Her jaw is set. Her gaze, steely. She's all business, marching steadily with her head held high.

Until you take off your helmet.

You're almost certain that you see her trip over air, but you're far too distracted by her wide-eyed stare to give it any more thought.

"Is something the matter?" you ask, your features contorting in growing confusion.

She blinks rapidly— shakes her head twice.

"No! No, not at all. I just… I just wanted to… introduce myself," she finally settles on saying.

You nod. Slowly. Tentatively.

"I know who you are," you reply, lips quirking up into a grin. "You introduced yourself to everyone before we set up camp."

"Right. That's… yes. I did, didn't I?"

You assume the question is rhetorical until the silence between you stretches long enough to suggest that an answer was expected, but just as you open your mouth to give one, she cuts you off.

"Sorry," she chuckles airily. "I just, um… wanted to make sure there wasn't anything you needed from me before tomorrow's battle."

How sweet, you think. The warm smile you give her betrays the thought.

It also makes her face go beet red.

"I'm alright for now," you nod, "but I'll let you know if that changes."

"Yes!" She blurts. "Please do. Just, uh… yeah. Yes. If you need anything at any point, say the word. I'll be right there. I mean— not right there; that makes it sound like I intend on following you around for the entire campaign, and that would be…"

She trails off as she comes to the realization that only two things will save this interaction:

Being struck down by Zeus himself, or shutting the fuck up.

"I understand," you giggle. "You're welcome to follow me around all you like. Thank you, Kassandra."

And with that, you walk away, moving on to sharpening weapons and tending campfires.

Kassandra stays exactly where she is for longer than is natural. How could she possibly act natural after an offer like that? After hearing how pretty her name sounds on your tongue?

When she finally walks back to her tent, she promptly falls back onto her bedroll, stares up at the roof of fabric in horror, and prays to Aphrodite that she won't make an ass of herself like that again.

──˚₊୨ৎ‧₊˚──

Unfortunately, Kassandra manages to make an ass of herself on three more occasions before the campaign ends.

The first happens during a battle in full swing. You catch sight of her taking a nasty hit and make your way over, cutting down a handful of Athenian soldiers on your way.

"Good to keep going?" You yell over the chaos, one hand on her arm.

Her head snaps toward the sound of your voice in an instant.

She looks down at the shared contact, then back up at you, then down again, then up once more.

"Y-yes," she replies, "I'm alright. Thank you… you didn't have to—"

She's cut off by the roar of a very dramatic opponent diving toward you for what he thinks will be the most epic kill of his life.

You promptly drive a spear through his throat.

She looks down at his leaden body, tsking. "Left himself wide open, am I right?" she asks, shaking her head.

You might begin to contemplate just how strange this woman is— and just how much it's beginning to grow on you— if it weren't for the raging battle taking precedence.

"Right," you slowly nod. "Let's, uh… get back to the fight, yes?"

"That's right— you're right. The fight."

She turns to an approaching enemy and hopes to get skewered.

──˚₊୨ৎ‧₊˚──

The second occasion happens a few days later. She approaches as you're cooking over a campfire, determined to make conversation that doesn't end in total humiliation.

Technically, she succeeds. The conversation begins with it.

"You alright?" she hears you ask, and her stomach drops as she realizes she's been staring at you as she contemplates what to say.

"Oh— Yes, I'm fine. Just… wanted to come check on the food."

You snort, looking back down at the stake of meat roasting in your hand. "You hungry?"

She finds that your dry wit is still wildly charming, even when at her expense.

"So… are you from Sparta?" she inquires after a moment

You look back up at her, confusion flashing across your features.

"I am," you reply. "It's, um... It's a requirement for being one of their soldiers, if I'm not mistaken."

Your lips quirk up into a grin. Hers press into a thin line.

"Right," she blushes. "That's, uh… that is correct."

"You haven't lived here for a while," you mention. "When did you leave?"

"After I was thrown from Mount Taygetos as a child."

"You were what?"

Kassandra's eyes go wide upon seeing the horror on your face.

"No! It's… It's okay, really. I'm okay. No big deal."

"That's a big deal, Kassandra."

There it is again. Her name on your tongue. She hardly gathers herself in time to respond after hearing it.

"I suppose I've come to regard the whole ordeal a bit too flippantly after all this time," she chuckles breathily. "I apologize."

A soft, warm smile appears on your face.

"You've nothing to apologize for. Speak of it however you'd like. I'm sorry it happened, though."

She isn't able to reply before another soldier beckons you over. You ask if she wouldn't mind roasting the meat for a moment, and she almost drops it entirely when her fingers brush your own as you hand it over.

As you walk away— poorly concealing an amused giggle— she finds herself praying once more.

Dear Aphrodite, grant me one conversation that doesn't make me want to crawl into a hole and die, and I'll start going to temples to do more than spy and steal.

──˚₊୨ৎ‧₊˚──

It's after the third and final moment of indignity that Kassandra decides enough is enough.

The two of you join a small group going down to the river for a wash when she notices you hesitating to take a steep step.

She's thrilled at the opportunity to extend a hand to you, ascends when you take it, beams when you finally make your way to solid footing.

And then, she promptly loses her own.

It's as she's looking up at the sky after having slipped and fallen on an acorn that Kassandra realizes the gods don't seem to be listening to her pleas for suave.

So she seeks out the next best thing.

"Mater?"

She steps foot into her childhood home, the smell of fresh bread wafting through the air.

She calls out for her mother again, making her way to the kitchen where Myrrine is furiously chopping vegetables. Kassandra has long since given up on trying to correct her mother's questionable knife skills, but her habit of opening her arms to hug Kassandra while still clutching said knife? That much has got to stop.

"Mater," Kassandra says once more, chuckling in exasperation as she promptly takes the blade from Myrrine's hand and sets it down on the counter before stepping into a hug. "No knives in hand when you're greeting someone, eh? It's threatening."

"We're threatening women, Kassandra," Myrrine argues before pressing a kiss to Kassandra's cheek. "What's the matter with that?"

Kassandra walks over to the kitchen table, sighing as she sits down.

"We're off-putting women," she grumbles, picking at a hangnail.

"Off-putting?" Myrrine echoes, offended. "Who's off-putting? I do quite well for myself… Can't you see my glow?"

Kassandra's face twists in disgust at the sight of her mother's cheeky smirk, her wiggling shoulders.

Myrrine, for one, is highly amused by her ability to embarrass her daughter, giggling to herself as she watches her daughter shake her head.

Her laughter softens when Kassandra's eyes drop down to her lap.

She doesn't see this version of her daughter much. The one that looks unsure, defeated, smaller. So much smaller that for a moment, Kassandra looks like an awkward teenager.

Myrrine's chest goes tight with a familiar grief as she remembers that an awkward teenage Kassandra is not an image she can actually conjure.

But Kassandra's here now, and even after nearly 20 years apart, it took Myrrine hardly any time at all to learn to read her.

"There's someone you fancy, hm?" Myrrine knowingly inquires.

Kassandra looks up at her mother through her lashes.

"Possibly…"

"Well, that's a good thing," Mryinne chimes, "isn't it?"

"It would be if I knew how to talk to the people I fancy!" Kassandra complains, gesturing wildly.

Myrrine laughs, her head thrown back and her himation swishing at her feet as she pads over to Kassandra. She sits down across from her, offering her hand palm-up on the table.

"It surely can't be that bad."

"It is that bad, Mater."

Kassandra reaches out, but only to grasp her mother's thumb. Myrrine smiles to herself. Kassandra held her hand this way as a child, too.

"You've at least tried to make easy conversation with them already, I hope. That's the first step, isn't it?"

A harrowed look settles into the lines of Kassandra's face.

Maybe it is "that bad," Myrrine thinks.

"I tried, yes," Kassandra responds solemnly. "It ended swiftly after I told them I was thrown from a cliff 20 years ago."

A bark of laughter escapes Myrrine before she can clap her hand over her mouth to stop it.

Definitely "that bad."

"Stop," Kassandra whines, burying her face in her hands. "It's not funny…"

"I'm sorry, moró mou," Myrrine chuckles, getting up to wrap her arms around Kassandra's shoulders; to place chaste kisses upon her dark hair.

"What do I do?" Kassandra pleads, words muffled. "I swear, every moment I've had with them has gone to utter shit."

"Oh, Kassandra," Myrrine coos. "Have you considered that it's part of your charm?"

"Mater," Kassandra chides, hands dropping to reveal narrowed eyes, "don't make fun of me. I'm serious."

"I'm serious," Myrrine argues, looking down at Kassandra with a smile.

"Consider this: you're incredibly strong. So valiant. Smarter than most philosophers and strategoi alike."

Kassandra chortles at her mother's obvious bias, but lets her head fall against her chest, anyway.

"All those brains and all that brawn… but you still wear your heart on your sleeve. You stumble over your words—"

"And my feet," Kassandra adds, cringing as she recalls her very first interaction with you.

"And your feet," Myrrine chuckles, squeezing Kassandra's shoulders, "all because you laid eyes on someone you care for. Isn't that all anyone wants? Someone who trips over their own feet for them?"

Myrrine may have a point. Kassandra has always found awkwardness rather inviting herself.

"Well… not everyone wants that. What then?" Kassandra ponders aloud.

"Then," Myrrine begins, sitting back down across from Kassandra and taking both of her hands in her own, "you wait for someone to come along who doesn't ask you to be anything you aren't. If this person you fancy is at all deserving of a wonderful girl like you, then they ought to like you exactly as you are, eh?"

A reluctant smile pulls at Kassandra's lips.

"Okay… so I just… keep being awkward, then?"

"Keep being awkward," Myrrine shrugs, standing to make her way back to half-sliced vegetables. "But, perhaps… save the cliff story for the first date."

──˚₊୨ৎ‧₊˚──

"Keep being awkward."

Not quite the input Kassandra was expecting to receive.

But, she heeds the advice, anyway. Takes every stumble— physical or otherwise— in stride, and hopes you'll happen to find it charming.

Correction: she prays that you'll find it charming, because— Gods— she's only fallen harder with every passing day.

And now it's the last day. Everyone's packing up after a successful campaign, clasping each other on the shoulders, bidding each other well on their journeys home.

And she's shitting bricks as she walks up to you; a mirror of your very first interaction.

"Y/n?" She calls, seemingly having lost every ounce of confidence she just led this army to success with.

You turn to face her, a wide smile spreading across your face as you rise from where you were folding up a bedroll.

"Kassandra."

Please, Aphrodite, don't let that be the last time I hear them say my name.

She takes a deep breath, willing herself to tell you just how fond of you she's grown, to ask where you're going, how to reach you, when she can see you again—

"Heading for Korinth, I hear?"

Kassandra blinks twice as your words cut through her thoughts. She nods, her words breathless as if she'd been running as quickly as she was spiraling.

"That's right."

You hum in consideration.

"That's quite a long trip."

"It is," she winces.

You hum again.

And then, you lock eyes with her, your lips pulling up into a smirk.

"Some company would be nice, don't you think?"

Kassandra may be categorically dense when it comes to romance, but she is not dense enough to miss the way your eyes just swept up and down her figure.

"A-are you… is this— was that—"

"I'm flirting with you, Kassandra."

Her eyes go wide. Her jaw goes slack. Only after a silence that lasts so long it leaves you biting the inside of your cheek in an effort not to laugh does she incredulously repeat,

"You're flirting with me?"

"I've been flirting with you the entire campaign…"

"You've been flirting with me the entire campaign?!"

You finally burst out into laughter.

"Is that so hard to believe?"

"Yes!" She exclaims. "Yes, because I've done nothing but make a fool of myself around you!"

You laugh even harder— because it couldn't be truer— but still, you assure her,

"I think it's cute," you shrug.

"Do you?" she questions, brow raising. "Well, then… I suppose my mater was right."

You tilt your head. "About what?"

"She, uh... she said my awkwardness is charming," she snorts, rubbing the back of her neck. "That if you were the right person, you'd 'like me exactly as I am.'"

You pause for a moment. Your eyes narrow. And then, you smirk again.

"You were talking to your Mater about me?"

"so what's the plan again?" remus asks you.

"right, so, you two go and talk to james. tell him you want to learn how to fly propperly or something he won't be able to resist. i'll go and say the same sort of thing to barty. then we leur them to the living room into the living room where we shut and barricade the door. got it?" you explain.

"got it" says lily.

"alright, we've got this"

*in james's room.*

Lily and remus enter the room trying to look casual. Luckily for them, james didn't seem to notice the stiffness in their movements as they both went and joined him on his bed.

"hey james" lily starts "remus was wondering if you'd teach him a few new skills on his broom"

"really?" james questions, looking as remus skeptically.

"yeah! i was.. uh.. thinking of joining the quidditch team this year." remus confirms.

oh, alright then. i'll go and get my gear!" he exclaims excitedly, jumping off his bed and bounding down the stairs to find his broom.

The moment he leaves the room, lily and remus breathe a collective sigh of relief before leaving the room themselves, eager to see how the rest of your plan will play out.

*in your room*

"hiya bat"

"hello my treasure, what's up?"

"nothing, just wondered if you wanted to go downstairs and watch a movie?" you see him hesitating so quickly add "you can choose which one" to sweeten the deal for him.

"oh alright." he says giving in and getting up of the best to head downstairs.

You follow behind him with a mischevious smile.

Barty walks into the living room where james is searching under the sofa for his missing shoe.

You gesture for barty to sit. You fake having an idea before sitting down.

"hold on a sec bee, ill go get some popcorn. You choose a film yeah?"

"alright tres." he says turning on the tv as you leave the room.

Once you're out, you shoot remus and lily a look. it's time to put the rest of your plan into action.

You close the door and hold it shut whilst lily grabs some of james' weights and remus shoves a chair up to the handle to secure the door closed.

This is met by both james and barty continuously trying the door handle but being unable to open it. The three of you can hear their muffled complaints from the other side of the door but you can't quite make out what they're saying.

"what do we do now?" lily asks

"i suppose we wait" you say " but right here. just incase we need to get inside."

"and why would we need to do that?" remus asks.

"just incase barty tries anything" you reply.

The three of you must have been sat there for around an hour when your mother, effie potter, returned home.

"hi mum." you greet her

" hi darling, whats going on?"

" we locked james and barty in there until they decide to get along."

"how's that going?" she questions.

" i'm not sure.." you answer honestly.

"we haven't head any screaming yet" remus replies "so it can't be going too badly"

"do you think we should let them out now?" lily asks

"probably should" you say, starting to unblock the door.

when you open the door, you see your brother and boyfriend sat at opposite ends of the sofa watching barty's favourite film. you look back at your mum and friends as if to check that they're also seeing this. They are. You see them look around the room in absolute disbelief.

"bat?"

"ah, there's the little traitor" he says, causing your stomach to sink.

You nervously look at your friends. They start to talk.

"you're not dead" remus states

"you lot have absolutely no faith in us" barty says as if the two of them aren't known for hating eachother.

"turns out crouch isn't awful company after all." james adds

"you're not too bad yourself potter"

You smile to yourself, not because your plan had been successful (well maybe that was part of it) but because your brother and boyfriend were finally getting along.

Synopsis: Harvey doesn’t particularly let out his feelings much, so when you get a call in the middle of the night, completely unannounced, it’s safe to say you’re there within a heartbeat.

“Harvey…?” You spoke into the phone, a little concerned as to why he called you at such a late hour. You were already in bed and about to fall asleep.

There was a short silence before he answered, almost as if he was waiting for the right words.

Finally, he replied, and you heard the slight hesitation in his voice, the uncertainty, and the exhaustion.

"Yeah?"

You were instantly on alert, but you made your voice calm and soft so he wouldn't hear your worry. "Is everything okay? Do you need me to come over?"

There was another pause, this one longer than the first. Your worry increased. You sat up, already pulling on a sweater, trying to get ready to go to Harvey's.

"No. No, it's alright. I just wanted to hear your voice. Sorry to wake you."

Your mind raced, trying to decipher Harvey's words and the hidden meaning behind them. His tone wasn't right; it was too quiet and too sad, nothing like the normal cocky, self-assured, sometimes slightly arrogant tone.

"You didn't wake me. Is something wrong, Harvey?"

You heard him sigh, then the sound of a door shutting and the muffled sounds of the city streets. He must have stepped out of his office, maybe gone outside.

"No. Everything is fine; It's okay. Go back to bed."

He didn't sound okay. In fact, he sounded a bit upset, though not like he was angry, more like he was frustrated.

You slipped on your shoes and coat, grabbed your keys and wallet, and quietly opened the door.

"Where are you? Home? I'll meet you there."

"What? No, no, that's not-"

"I'll be there in fifteen minutes. Wait for me, okay? Don't go anywhere."

You could almost hear him frown through the phone. "I can't ask you to do that. You don't have to.”

"Harvey," you interrupted him again. "I'm coming, alright? See you soon."

You hung up before he could protest more and drove as fast as you could to his apartment.

Once you arrived, you saw that Harvey was waiting for you outside. He looked exhausted and was staring up at the sky, his hands in his pockets. He was still in his work suit but had taken off his tie and jacket, leaving his top few buttons undone and his sleeves rolled up.

"Harvey?"

He jumped slightly and looked over at you. The moment he saw you, he relaxed and gave a half smile, but you could tell he was still worried.

“Hey, Bumblebee,” His nickname for you. You had told him how you hated bees when you were younger and had a fear of being stung, and ever since, he had called you Bumblebee, telling you that you were the cutest little bumblebee. It was definitely meant to be teasing, but somehow, the way he said it was never mean or rude, and you secretly loved it no matter how much you’d deny it.

“What was it? Mike?” You guessed, referring to Harvey's associate, whom he had taken under his wing a while back. Harvey shook his head.

"Jessica, actually."

You raised an eyebrow.

"She found out and wants me to fire him. But I can't, I just can't, not now."

"I’m sorry, Harv, but you knew it was a risk, right? She had to have found out eventually.”

"Yeah, I know, I just thought maybe... maybe I wouldn't have to, and we could figure something out. He’s got so much potential.”

Harvey looked down and sighed. He looked so tired, but you knew his mind was racing, always trying to find a way to fix things. He had been working with Mike for a while now, and even though he would never admit it, you knew Harvey cared about him and had grown attached to his presence.

And when Harvey gets attached, he hates to lose.

Your hands found his arms, and you squeezed gently, trying to reassure him. You had done this plenty of times in the past, and you knew it worked.

"Look at me," you told him, and he did. His dark brown eyes met yours, and you were almost startled by the amount of emotion in them. He was always good at hiding how he felt, but you could see through his mask, and you saw how upset he was.

"You’ll figure it out; you always do. And even if somehow you don't, it's not the end of the world. He could always… you know, actually, go to law school."

Harvey laughed quietly, and the sound warmed your heart. He was finally relaxing, slowly calming down.

"No, that's not an option," he replied.

"Right. I forgot how stubborn you both are."

You smiled, and Harvey smiled back. He had the most wonderful smile, the kind that always made you happy no matter what was happening.

"I'm glad you came," Harvey said, taking a step closer. His hands found your waist, and yours reached up to wrap around his neck. You could feel the warmth from his body through your clothes, and you leaned in, resting your head against his chest.

"Me too. Especially when you’re in a mellow mood," you teased. Harvey chuckled and rubbed your back. “That's rare."

"Hey," Harvey replied, feigning offense. "I'm not always a dick, you know."

"About eighty percent of the time," you grinned, looking up at him. Harvey's smile faded, and his eyes locked on yours, gazing at you with a certain intensity that made your breath catch.

You stared at each other for a few moments, neither one of you moving, until Harvey suddenly leaned down and pressed his lips against yours, his hand cupping your cheek and the other wrapped tightly around your waist, pulling you against him.

The kiss was slow and sweet but full of all the emotions that neither of you could say. There was no rush, no desperate passion or need, just the two of you together.

After a while, Harvey pulled away but kept his forehead pressed against yours, his breath warm against your skin.

He didn’t say anything, but you knew exactly what he was thinking. You had spent enough time with him to be able to read him perfectly.

"Unfortunately, yes. I really do."

“Good,” His lips brushed against yours, and his smile was still there, but his eyes were serious. “Glad to know we feel the same way.”

Back in the days of the Sanctuary, Negan would've never seen himself doing anything like this. Things were different now, though. It was just the two of you inside this cabin. The fireplace was burning brightly and adding to the cozy atmosphere you had created. You had him flat on his back on the sofa and his hair was damp with sweat. Ideally, you would've had him on his hands and knees, but he'd refused. You'd make do with what he was willing to give you.

Negan's grunts and groans were slowly transitioning into low whines. You'd barely gotten the tip of the dildo inside of him before he became a mess. He wouldn't stop squirming, and that earned a verbal reprimand from you.

“Negan, stop fucking squirming. You wanted this, right?”

“Yeah. I- I did. I still do, but fuck.”

“If you want it, you have to be still. Be good for me.”

It was in his defiant nature to argue, but he really didn't want you to stop. Negan used all of his strength to hold still and allow you to continue. You pulled him closer and shifted to bury deeper inside of him. As you kept moving, the volume of his sounds increased. It was only natural for you to tease him further.

“You like that, huh? Gettin' all whiny on me.”

If he didn't feel like he was being split open, Negan would've told you to fuck off. Instead, he focused on the pleasure that you were giving him. His chest was heaving with small gasps, and it brought a smile to your face. It was rare to see him completely unguarded like this. His eyes fluttered shut, and you could almost feel him throb with ecstasy. He was right on that edge and you know it.

You decided to mess with him, and you paused your thrusting. This had the desired result because Negan responded with something akin to panic. He flailed beneath you and whimpered. Negan Smith had actually whimpered. A smile crept across your face, and you placated him with a quick kiss. Your tone was full of jest as you grinned.

“What's wrong, baby?”

“You- you stopped. Why the fuck did you stop?”

“I didn't know that you wanted me to keep going.”

Bullshit. Negan groaned and fought the urge to get mouthy. The last thing that he wanted was for you to stop entirely. You were obviously expecting something, though. Desperate for you to keep going, he did something out of character, he begged.

“Please, sweetheart. Keep going. Please.”

“Since you asked so nicely, I'll keep fucking you.”

Giving in to his pleading, you picked up the pace and began thrusting into him again. Negan's hands were gripping the couch cushions as he kept whining. He was so close that it was almost painful. It was becoming unbearable, but he knew he couldn't find that release until you let him. You must've felt like being kind because you spoke up again.

“Alright, baby. You can come. You've been real good.”

Negan didn't have to be told twice, and he came with a cry. You worked him through the orgasm and gently rubbed his side as he came down. He was panting and, to your surprise, a tear rolled down his cheek. You quickly kissed it away and praised him.

“There we go, baby. You did so fucking good.”

“Thank you. Fuck that was good, sweetheart.”

“Yeah? You in the mood to go again?”

“Are you tryna kill me?”

That got a laugh out of you, and you pressed another quick kiss to his lips. The mock horror on Negan's face was almost comical. He was nothing if not dramatic. You took a second to catch your own breath before carefully pulling out of him.

“Alright. How 'bout we see if this place has running water?”

“That sounds perfect.”

Honeybee's Happy End - Benny Cross (part 7)

"Are you free for breakfast tomorrow?"

"I was thinking of taking Matilda to the park... Do you want to join us?"

"There is this café that just opened. Wanna grab a coffee?"

It was a constant back and forth with telephone cords twirled around a finger, breathy sighs falling from their lips as they fell for each other's words. Everything seemed so perfect, almost too perfect.

Matilda's quiet corner couldn't stay monotone for long. Her tiny hands let go of her beloved dolls as she dramatically cleared her throat, but uncle Johnny couldn't be bothered, his glasses were perched on top of his nose as he read that day's paper.

"Daddy said he went on a date. With a girl!"

Johnny flicked a page. "You don't say."

Matilda hummed, her little nose raised a bit higher. "Yeah, daddy tells me things. Except for who he went out with," Johnny didn't make any noise of acknowledgment. "Do you know who he's on a date with?"

The man sighed, his eyes falling shut in desperation as he muttered a low lord have mercy under his breath. "It ain't none of our business, kid."

"But you know, right?" The little girl stood up, dropping her dolls to the ground, slowly approaching her uncle like a predator would approach a prey. "It'll be our little secret, I promise."

Johnny looked at her with an unamused look, his hand reaching to snatch the glasses away from his nose, fiddling them in the pocket of his shirt.

"I told ya, kid. I don't know anything," he pressed, but Matilda wasn't convinced.

"Really?" she raised an eyebrow in subtle question, her left hand hidden behind her back. Johnny nodded, pressing his lips into a thin line. "Are you sure?"

Her left hand slowly came forward, a bright pink shade of lipstick in her hold - the same one that her daddy didn't allow her to wear.

"Whatcha got there, kid?"

Matilda shrugged innocently, slowly climbing up the couch, getting closer to the man by the second.

"If you don't tell me who my daddy went out with... You'll be going home lookin' like an easter egg."

"No can do, kid", before Matilda could even react, Johnny snatched the lipstick away from her. "I have two daughters. This ain't my first rodeo." Matilda crossed her arms on her chest, a defeated huff falling from her lips. She had other plans for him.

You and Benny decided to meet at the park. There was nothing more relaxing than summer air and a park with buzzing bees and fluttering butterflies. And running and screaming children, but you didn't mind too much. You purposely arrived earlier so you could sink in that relaxation and bathe in that sunshine.

Benny had been so wonderful you almost had a hard time believing that a man with that reputation could touch your heart with words and sweet gestures. He always made sure you were comfortable around him, his arm around your shoulder was like a mantle of protection against the world. He wasn't a hand-holding kind of guy, which was alright, he had other ways of showing that you belonged to him and that he belonged to you.

Every date ended in the same way. You lost count of the amount of times the two of you fell into each other's arms against your front door, lips swollen on freckled skin and hands tangled in passion. That kind of love couldn't be tamed. Part of you wondered if it was just a summer fling, short and intense, yet still a good time memory. Or if it could ever be something more.

That was Benny's intention that day — finally ask you out, set a label on your kisses and touches. Officially. His plans were looking slightly different as Matilda strangely insisted on going to the park he was going to meet you at. She begged him on hands and knees, big puppy eyes.

"Please, daddy! I'll be good, I swear— I won't be even asking for ice cream."

Benny raised an eyebrow. "Wow, really? That sounds promising." The little girl was close to crying, her face flushed as she worked up the nonexistent tears in her eyes. Benny gave in, making her promise that she wouldn't cause any trouble.

"I promise. I'll be the best I've ever been."

You heard Benny before you saw him, an instant smile finding its way to your face. Before you could even think, you stood up, making your way towards him. But you noticed he wasn't alone — and no, it wasn't just little Matilda Cross immediately running up to her school-crush Matt. It was another woman. A very, very beautiful one.

You stopped in your tracks, watching them quietly interact.

A manicured hand patted the front pocket of his jacket, her ruby red lips twitching in a smile. You couldn't see Benny's reaction, the woman's back was turned to you, her leather jacket creaking under the summer heat. Her black Levi's hugged her legs impeccably and her studded boots made her look like she belonged right there. With him.

You swallowed the knot in your throat, contemplating on your own existence. That wasn't jealousy, no, you knew she was gorgeous and if one were to ask an outsider they'd say they belonged together. Nobody would say that about a little school teacher.

Benny shook his head at Laura, respectfully trying to get her to get the hell out of there, but she planted herself right by his bike. His eyes darted to his left and his lips parted.

Matilda and Matt were holding hands.

Benny did a double-take, blinking as if to make sure what he was seeing was real. "What the— Matilda Cross!"

Matilda's blue eyes widened, her tightening hand around the little boy's as they ran off to the other side. Benny took a step forward, but Laura patted his front pocket.

"Easy there. She's just a little girl," Laura said teasingly, a small smile on her face.

Benny shook his head, jaw clenching. "That's my daughter," he mumbled through gritted teeth. Then his eyes looked past Laura, catching sight of you leaving.

"Wait, no—" he took another step forward, but Matilda ran in another direction, accompanied by Matt, of course. "Fuck."

Was he going to run after you or after his Matt-crazed daughter?

His heart thumped, eyes looking at your wandering figure, but you were already so far away. He could fix this, he told himself, but he had to get to his daughter first.

"Matilda Cross!"

The little girl giggled on the swing, Matt pushing her higher and higher, uncaring of the biker approaching them.

"Uh oh," the little boy mumbled. "Isn't that your daddy?" He gulped in a dramatic way and took a step backwards, right when Benny's boots crashed against the pebble-covered ground.

"Matilda," Benny pronounced her name firmly. She looked up at him innocently, not saying anything. Then the biker's eyes darted on the boy, shakily hiding behind a nearby tree. "Boy. I don't wanna see ya with my daughter anymore. Go back to your mama." Matt didn't waste more time and ran off, his heart a beating mess against his ribs.

"Daddy!" Matilda was irritated, the swing slowing down. "Why did you that! That's mean!"

Benny shook his head. "How many times have I called your name, little girl? And how many times have I told you that you're too young for a boyfriend?" His daughter's cheeks flushed.

"He's not my boyfriend, daddy," she mumbled under her breath, then she lit up, gaze raising to meet Benny's. "Does he look like my boyfriend? Does it look like we're together?"

Benny gave her an unimpressed look. "Kid."

"Okay, fine, fine", she rolled her eyes. "But I don't think it's fair that you can have a girlfriend and I can't."

He sighed, falling into the swing beside his daughter's. "I don't have a girlfriend, bee." Matilda stared at him for a little while, pausing her mental rant about Matt and what could've been if her daddy hadn't made him run away.

"I think you should run after Miss Y/N, daddy."

Benny's face turned to her immediately.

"What are you talking about, bee?" the back of his neck felt warm and his hands tingly.

Matilda's legs dangled, her gaze raising to meet her daddy's. "I know that Miss Y/N is your almost-girlfriend."

Benny didn't question her words, just let out a tired sigh. "How'd you know?"

"I made uncle Johnny tell me," she shrugged her shoulders. "Or I would've colored his hair with my nail polish."

"Of course you would've."

She let his sorrowful tone linger for a moment, then she looked up again. "You have to run after her, daddy."

Benny let out another sigh, lowering his head in defeat. "It's too late for that, bee," he shook his head. "She was there... And saw me with Lara. It's over."

Matilda's little brows scrunched as she took a big jump from the swing. She approached him slowly and slapped his shoulder, a determined look on her face.

"What was that for?"

"First of all, that was Laura, daddy. That was Kathy's friend," she raised her little index. "Second of all, if you don't run after her, Mr Waters will in September."

Benny raised an eyebrow. "Why in September?"

"School starts again in September, daddy." Her blue eyes rolled at his question. Benny hummed, nodding slowly. "And then, if Mr Waters becomes Miss Y/N's boyfriend, you will be sad and jealous. And I don't like you when you're like that. You have to go and tell her that Laura really liked your jacket."

Matilda nodded, a satisfied smile on her face.

"My jacket? I'm gonna tell her that Lara really liked my jacket and that was why she was talking to me?"

His daughter looked at him with a neutral expression.

"If you don't do that... The other guy wins."

Benny clicked his tongue. "You're a sneaky little thing, aren't you?"

Matilda shrugged, nudging him with her elbow. "I learned from the best."

"You're overthinking it," Kathy explained, brushing your hair into luscious locks. "I introduced Laura to Benny years ago— And nothing happened! Just an ongoing joke at the club, that's it. You've got nothing to worry about."

You sighed, your sad eyes staring back at your reflection. "They looked really good together. Like they belonged, you know?" you mumbled softly. Kathy raised your chin, her eyebrow raised in a loving manner.

"I've known Benny for years, and believe me when I tell you that I've never seen that man act like that. For anyone, let alone a woman," she placed the hairbrush on the vanity and grabbed her makeup. "Now, are you sure about the smokey eye—"

"Yes," you said firmly. "Sorry. Yes. I would like to see someone else in the mirror. Someone that's not me."

Kathy hummed. "We need definitely more curls. A smokey eye and a bold lip."

"Uhm, Kathy, my clothes..."

She chuckled, turning the chair around, bringing your hair over your shoulders. "You've got nothing to worry about. I'll make you look unrecognizable."

It didn't take Kathy that long. She was done in one hour, and as promised, you could barely recognize yourself. "Wow, Kath."

She gave you a satisfied smile. "I know, right? I do have magic fingers," her smile faltered into a grimace. "That sounded wrong. Anyways. The leather jacket is downstairs, I'll go get it for you. The rest of the clothes is right there on the bed," she gave a quick motion to the bed and walked to the door. "I'm waiting downstairs!"

An easy breath fell from your lips, the urge to keep looking in the mirror strong. Your eyes darted on every inch of your body — from your red heels to the leather of your tight top. That wasn't you, that was for sure, but there was something inside of you that needed to look different. To feel like a different person.

The doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!" Kathy yelled out, moving towards the door. The rings became insistent, making her huff as she yanked the door open. "What! Oh—" Her eyes widened at the sight before her. Blonde, gelled up hair, a spotless black suit, a midnight blue tie tucked in a white shirt and pink tulips in between his ring-less hands.

"Who are you?" Kathy raised an eyebrow. "And what are you wearing? Is Matilda at home cleaning your jacket?"

Benny's lips parted. "What the hell are you doing here? Where's Y/N?" His eyes scanned the area over her shoulder.

Kathy pressed herself further against the door. "She... She's busy."

"Is she in here? I need to talk to her."

"I don't think it's a good idea right now—" The faint sound of heels clicking made Benny's gaze snap again. His eyes were eager to see you again, his lips tingled at the mere thought of talking to you, apologizing on his hands and knees until you forgave him—

"Kathy? Who's at the door?"

Lord have mercy.

Red heels. Red. And leather, all over.

The tulips fell loose from his grip, spilling their color all over the floor.

"Benny?" you mumbled, tone tinged with confusion. "What are you doing here?"

The biker remained silent, his lips falling open at the sight of you. Kathy's eyes darted between the leather-clad woman and the man who had never worn a suit in his life. As much as she wanted to stay and see it all unfold, she knew her place was elsewhere.

"I think you both got this," Kathy nodded, then turned to look back at you. "I'll see you on Saturday." She squeezed between Benny and the door, without sparing him a glance. The blonde's eyes stayed on you for the longest time, your cheeks a dangerous red crimson.

"Uhm..." you mumbled unsure. "Where's Tilly?"

"With Johnny," he stuttered out. "I-I brought you flowers. Or I had." His gaze shifted to the floor. You instantly bent down and grabbed each tulip, feeling warmth creeping down your neck. Benny also lowered himself, collecting the rest of the flowers in his hands.

"There." You took them from his hold, averting your eyes, although he was unbelievably beautiful and almost impossible to avoid.

"Thank you. Make yourself at home."

You wandered out, looking for a vase in the kitchen. Benny took the chance to look around as he had never been past that front door. The space resembled every single thing you liked and believed in. It was you in all your forms.

"Would you like something to drink?" your voice was feather-light but undeniable. Benny gulped the knot in his throat, his heartbeat faster than what he was used to.

"I know you saw me with that woman today," he went straight to the point, his palms sweating a little. "She really liked my jacket. That's why she was so close to me."

Your face showed surprise. "Oh."

"Yeah that's it. I promise," Benny nodded, his tongue wetting his lips. "I, uh, I wanted to ask you... No, I wanted to tell you that..." he stuttered out for a moment, circling the topic. "That you... That we are not just a summer thing."

You stilled.

"I'm not good enough with words," Benny looked down, the tie suddenly too tight and clingy onto his skin. "I have never met anyone like you— Nobody that didn't judge me immediately. Everyone has... Everyone but you."

"I like who I am when I'm with you. Matilda says I'm happier with lipstick on my face," he chuckled, gaze lifting to meet yours again. Your eyes were glossed by tears— caused by his beautifully insecure words. "I thought... Maybe if I put on a suit I'd be in your league... Someone that deserved to be by your side."

Your jaw clenched as tears escaped your eyes. "Oh, Benny." And you launched yourself in his arms, his body instantly catching yours.

"I hope I deserve you, honey, because I-I don't know what to do if I don't," Benny muttered in yours hair, voice muffled by emotion. You shook your head against his chest, sniffling lightly.

"You deserve me only if I deserve you," you mumbled, the sticky leather somewhat unbearable against your already warm skin. Benny pulled away a little, staring at you with scrunched brows.

"What are you talking about? The leather?"

You blushed, giving him a faint nod.

"I-I like it, but it's not you," he shook his head, eyes scanning your clothes. "You are flowers, dresses, bees and books. Sweet perfumes, smiles, laughter and bows." His voice was quiet, but it cut through the silence.

"That's you... That's the version of you I fell for."

Your lips parted, eyes never budging from his.

"Really?"

He nodded with a faint smile. "I wish I had brought my jacket though... You would've looked even better in it."

You rolled your eyes, disguising your smile in his neck, your eyes shutting. Then you fell quiet, thinking about what made you change looks in the first place. "From afar... It looked like you belonged together— you and that woman at the park today. Straight out of a movie."

Benny hummed, letting you continue.

"I thought that maybe... I'd feel better if I dressed like her... That I'd have better chances with you— It's stupid," you immediately halted, feeling embarrassment crawling from under your skin. Benny's hand slid over your chin, catching his blue eyes.

"That just shows how alike we are." You didn't flinch at his words, feeling his steady heartbeat under the palm of your hand. "Trying to fit into each other's worlds."

"I love your jacket," you revealed, an ever-growing smile on your face. He noticed, grinning as well.

"I knew it," and he leaned down, gently pecking your lips. "So... Now that this big misunderstanding is behind us... Y/N..." His eyes stayed on yours, an almost startling softness prevailing in them for the very first time. "Will you be my girlfriend?"

You smiled, the cherry-blush only intensifying. "Yes, Benny." You didn't wait for your sighs to mix together as you placed your lips on his, stifling his groan. Benny's hands fell to your waist, one of them wandering to your hair, gripping it to bring you impossibly closer.

Then your lips detached from his, only inches apart as big smiles broke on your faces. "This is the Benny Cross I fell for. I never looked at the bike or the jacket..." you traced his cheek with your knuckles. "I looked at his heart, so sweet and gentle. One of a kind. That's who I fell for."

Benny's smile turned into something softer. "You gave me the chance to be a better man. I love you, honey."

Prime out of controll - bad influence

Audio fins flickering as familiar light passed through his entire body, Optimus could not say anything, even if he wanted, as of right now it would not be the best to even try to explain the situation to Ratchet. Especially when his old friend is letting angry rumble, mumbling something under his breath. Letting Ratchet do his job, Optimus could only watch Bee, young bot nervously walking from one side of room to another and Wheelie, who was hiding behind a chair like it will keep him safe, occasionally poking his helm from behind chair legs and quickly hiding.

"Ratchet" finally speaking up, Optimus did his best not to sound to guilty "I assure you I—

"Yip yip yip, shut it!" yellowish green bot lifted his servo, voice drowning in anger "I... I have no words!!! What was going through your helm to do such thing! To eat a HUMAN!?" Ratchet tried not to scream as to not alert humans walking past the closed doors of hangar "It's already enough of having strained relationship with their government, imagine the panic if they find out what you did! And the risks! What if something get clogged, or they kick something out of place! What idiosity!" Tapping on tablet to see readings, dock fumed and pushed Bee aside as young bot tried to see what as going on, snapping at worried bot as well. On the screen they can see a clear image of tank - wires intertwined to form something that was meant to break metal and energon, with various wires connected to it and in the middle of it a small human form, huddled somewhere far away, arms wrapped around legs in patient anticipation of their release.

"They don't seem to be affected by anything... YET" Ratchet hissed, glaring at Optimus the moment his fins went up, quickly making them go back down "there is no visible harm to them, but I'll have to make sure they are fine once they out, because who knows what is happening in there, your nanites could be swarming them and they won't even realise until its to late... Primus, what do I do with you?"

"I assure you, they are quite alright" placing hand on his abdominal plating last of Primes let a huff out "They are ... safe"

From all the commotion outside Optimus body, something was not right. And then the strange noises and every thing else. Hell, you can hear big bots engine growling with worry. But what can you do besides wait and see what is happening outside. Leaning back against wires, unwrapping your arms from legs, letting yourself stretch as much as possible, muscles aching from being locked in one place. Finally the tank moved, giving you seconds to brace for rapid "evacuation". Wires wrapped around you in uneasy tension, pushing up back in to the throat and then up in to Primes mouth. The sudden bright light assaulted your eyes with such force, you can feel migraine forming somewhere in the back of your head. The world tilted down and you slipped out of the maw with every thing else, falling in to someone's hands, because even in dazed state you can tell it was not Prime - hands were far to small and you sure you landed in something soft. They quickly wrapped fabric around you with gentle care, yet restrictive enough if you were to try and wiggle out it would not work.

Catching falling out of Primes mouth human, medick quills begin his assessment, drying them off at the same time as much as possible. Visually they seemed alright, no signs of burning, like red skin, they seemed a bit woozy, limbs far to floppy, and clearly not to well taking to sudden bright light, squinting their eyes shut and letting hushed protest. Still there could be every thing else going on inside them, so he let out a grunt, mentally thanking his momentarily curiosity in human medicine.

"Bumblebee, bring me a barrel of water. And some clothing. You know how humans are about their bodies"

"Are they gonna be alright?" Finally getting out from behind the chair, small bot quickly rolled over, climbing on huge surface to check on human. Even if he hates to admit it, he sort of cares for them – after all who else treats him so good.

"For this I'll have to run some more tests... where is it now?" Looking through huge containers, big bot pulled out comically small container and activated his blade, making sure just to nick small fleshy being to draw enough blood for test. Running them quickly, letting a gentle hum at the results "It seems like they did get some nanites in their bloodstream, yet from what I can see they do not seemed to do any harm. Still it be best for them not to BE THERE" glaring at Primus, Ratchet got things ready for when Bee will return.

It did not take much to find an empty barrel and fill it with water without much attention as soldiers probably thought that he was carrying energon, yet Bee was still nervous, his door-wings flattering with worry. He did not expected this from his leader, to gobble human that He intrusted him to begin with. Yes, he knows that now there is a lot more missions, he still checks on them, so why would Optimus do it... a quite thought quickly crossed his mind. Was this a safer way to keep them out of decepticon’s reach? Did it work? Judging that they still were in one peace even after being kidnapped by Megatron again, it is working. Because a second, no, third encounter with Megatron, and coming out alive again, was a miracle even for autobots. And he did wonder - did they taste different to energon and metal? And with how calm Prime was he can guess its not the first time. When did it started, why would he so eagerly do it, because from how Wheely panicked it explained how hungrily Prime shoved human in, and clearly not the first or maybe even last time. Should he try it??? He kind of wants it now. Shaking his helm, Bumblebee focused back on task and snuck in to one of storage rooms where soldiers kept clothes, snatching the first thing he could get and shoving in to his chest, quickly sneaking out. Returning in to med bay, he can see y/n still in Ratchet servos, still getting examined while covered in what ever lubricant was inside fueltank, slowly getting more aware of situation. Bringing over the barrel of water and clothes, he watched medic slide clothes off, not really in mood to fight them and begun slowly rubbing lubricant off with wet cloth. Clearly human did not liked it, starting to fight back and try to wrangle cloth away, mumbling about something doing it by them self's and not needing help. But med bot ignored them, grumbling about disinfecting them properly and not trusting half confused human to do it. After cleaning everything thing off, Ratchet let them get them self dressed, time to time hosting his servo in front or behind them any time they wobbled a bit to hard.

Optimus can feel Ratchet staring him down every time he interacted with y/n. Even if Ratchet did not agree at first, he reluctantly gave up, yet still glared any time Prime had interaction with human, silently judging Optimus. Though there were days were strange empty filling would spread though put him and pain of hunger nagged at his processor, driving him mad with faint whisper of taste. Those days he could not help him self and thankfully, y/n did not fail to help him. He would hide away in endless buildings of new York and just enjoy it. Sometimes even taking his sweet time tasting human, able to note different flavours time to time, before sending them down with pleasant sensation spilling through his spark.

Humming quietly one of notes he heard on radio - a pleasant tune, Prime glanced at the side, able to see you huddled in the corner, deep in "homework" - eyes focused, time to time shifting slightly from side to side, brows frowned in focused manner and pale lips pressed in to thin line. The stench of strong coffee hung in air, even if humans could not smell it, every faint scentl was very strong to him. You've been seating in same position for hours now, unmoving, for hours and it worried him a bit. Letting a heavy sigh and a bit of smoke though his pipes, he glance to another bright blur. Bumblebee was busy with punching a huge bag that humans generously provided. There was no missions or training assigned for today, so he let bots tend to themselves, do what ever they want. Looking in between two, he called out to Bee over comlink, having an idea. Be good for both of them to have fun again right? Walking over to Optimus, Bee was pumped to be sent on some mission or something, momentarily glancing at you. It's been a while since he hanged out with you, mostly because of missions and you being to busy with school. And when you and him did hangout, it was only for a moment. So it was a bit surprising to hear what Optimus was asking of him. To just make sure they doing anything but homework. Beeping with excitement, Bee trotted over to you and leaned on rails, using radio to communicate his intentioned. You let out a heavy sigh, looking up at Bee adorable face with exhaustion. Your head was buzzing and you knew well that it was fromm staring at the screen for so long, and you did miss Bee and hanging out with him. So fuck it, closing the screen, you smiled softly at yellow bot, asking what he had in mind. Your huge yellow friend buzzed with excitement and clapped his hands, snapping them in to finger guns, transforming and inviting you in. You quickly got down from platform and hopped in, still being careful and let a happy sigh as Bee drove out from the base, finally being able to go somewhere else.

Bee just drove around before coming to a stop in far away place, away from city, out in the field by a huge tree. You breathed in sweet summer air, letting your body to relax and fell on the grass. You can hear Bee transforming behind you and joining in, resting on the ground besides you. It was nice to get away from things and just talk about anything. The nagging question at the back of his processor came again and Bee looked down. Being scout of autobots, he knew things that other might probably wish to keep to them self, like Primes well guarded secret of where he goes time to time, disappearing for hours only to return later, sneaking in his bot mode, carefully cradling middle of his body, alert and constantly looking for someone. And Bee could guess who he was hiding and why. And now the strange curiosity plagued him again. He wanted to try it... it can't be that good that.

You looked up at Bee, who was staring at you with a very familiar glint. You sighed, head rolling back a bit, letting a smile escape you. There is no reason to run from it and so far you can tell, they don't mean harm and most of time Prime does it to calm him self down.

"If you want to you can" you nodded quietly and it seems like there was no need for the question to be even spoken. Bee moved carefully, yet eagerly - his servo wrapping around the body and lifting. You had to question how he would do, looking at the bot with a bit puzzled look. Though answer came quickly.

The round part of the mask came apart and slowly opened, revealing a mouth. Why did it reminded you of snake mouth. Bee eagerly shoved your head in while pushing from behind. Something slimy moved under you and slithered around, far to hungrily. The taste!!! If he knew humans tasted so good, he would... best not to go in there. It might be a bit an overkill, his jaw splitting and adjusting it to fit body and he can feel neck plating stretch to limits to fit HIS human in and his alone. Shoving more, he gulped them down, more and more, shoving last part and closing his jaw around his digits, pulling them out and letting his body do the rest. He can feel human body slide down, deeper and deeper, and he made sure it is slow. Finally y/n reached his tank and he can feel them take entire space up, curling and time to time moving. The feeling was amazing, making him drunk with it and he fell back, his t-cog adjusting the body for new passenger. There is not much space like inside Optimus, that was not a big surprise, considering his size difference to big bot. Your body was forced in to fetal position and just breathed slowly, knowing that it must be a lot on bot as well. So you'll just chill.

Optimus was getting a bit worried after not getting any answer from Bee about where he was, knowing that you had a certain time to sleep which you did not break. So he was released to see Bee walk in, though quickly grew concerned when he fell, wrapping his servos around his torso, letting a whine. Quickly making over, he can see that his body seems different, kneeling, and making sure there was no humans around, rolled Bee on his side. Yep, his midsection is bigger. Sighing heavily, he lifted the bot up.

Bumblebee woke up in med bay with Ratchet over him, pressing on midsection while saying something. He doesn't want to deal with it, he has something else to deal with. His hurting, and yet he is still to greedy, he does not want to let them out, wrapping his servos around him self. Just not yet.
