The waves crashed against the boat rhythmically, the prince sat onto the last step of the stairs that lead to the deck of the ship his heeled boot propped onto the floorboards a sweet scented liquor held into his palm as he laughed at a joke his comrade in arms made, this time his hair was loose and flowed with the wind gracefully across his strong jaw down the swell of his high cheekbone his purple orbs squinting and his slightly exposed chest huffed with laughter.
Your hands grazed the solid wooden part of the port, slightly pruned from the sea water that dripped down your hair and all over your exposed upper body to entranced by the man without a fin’s features to feel the chill of the air.
“Princess! You have to get back down here before they see you!”, the crab goes unnoticed once again and the warning falls on deaf ears
Your icy eyes trail down from his luxurious hair down his thick neck decorated with purple and olive veins, down his hard collarbones and towards the slight cleavage of his strong chest the little chest hairs that decorated it reminded you of the moss that laid over the rocks at bays, once again your gaze lifted to his face admiring the plump pink lips that looked so soft his high nose bridge that made the bow of the boat looks to shame, his slightly furrowed brows lastly and your most favourable feature of him, his astonishingly bright violet irises.
Feeling your heart that already beat a hundred times per minute, beat even faster than it should a stupid smile graced your face as you rested your cheek against the wet, sullen wood maybe at this distance it was enough to see him, this was the safest way you could, shit did he just make eye contact with you because he just stood up and made his way towards you in a panic you flipped your body and dived head first into the cold sea, all Suguru saw was a big splash of water
“Suguru something the matter!?”, Satoru, his best mate tilted his head at the crowned prince soon to be king
“Nothing…just thought I saw something”
“What like a mermaid”, laughter erupted once more as he walked backed to the crew
Suguru huffed a laugh and shook his head turning around but then a sudden shake of the hull moved the ship from side to side the lookout ontop of the keel screamed out
“We just hit a rock! Captain we’re in the middle of the cove!”, Suguru cursed under his breath and rushed to the front of the ship towards the helm spinning towards the right to avoid the upcoming splash of rocks, as if that wasn’t enough the tide suddenly became ten times stronger
Down below the boat you swarm back up to get a glimpse at the sudden abrupt turn of the ship
“They hit cove! The ship could sink we have to do something-“, the crab grabbed hold of your wrist before you go closer
“There’s nothing we can do princess, we have to leave before they see you”
“I can’t just leave them to die!”
Then screams erupted and a huge glow of light illuminated the dark sea, a fire broke out although the crew members couldn’t save the ship they needed to go onto the emergency life boat before Suguru could board it the rough barks of his golden retriever reverted through the crackling flames and the falling wood, “Eric!”
“Suguru it’s to late if you leave you’ll sink with the ship-“, the one thing you both had in common was the words that fell on deaf ears he sprinted across the hull of the ship and lifted the giant dog with both of his hands running and jumping over broken splintered wood and embers of the fire he threw the dog safely into the raft boat but before he could reach it himself the ship tipped over on a huge rock and sank so quickly they had no time to even catch a glimpse of the hands that dragged him away from the splintering rocks
Luckily you didn’t move to far from the ship your smaller arms wrapped underneath his own and dragged him above water so he wouldn’t drown, although he fainted flipping your fins as hard you could you headed towards the nearby shore the raft sailed in the opposite direction
This time the waves crashed gently against the shore, the breeze was warm with the sunrise the pants of your breathes finally calmed down, you chest pressed against his side as your hands rested over his heart thank the seven seas it still beat
Propping yourself up onto your arms your hair draped over your shoulders and touched the edge of his cheeks to his ears his breaths were more shallow than your own and his eyes were rested closed, this is the closest you’ve ever been to a human as you’ve come to learn to what he is, his skin was warmer than your own his flesh was a tone warmer as well, this time you let your webbed fingers danced from his stomach up to his chest the tips of your index and middle finger fell between his chest, up to his neck to the side of his jaw your palm cupped his cheek and your thumb grazed under the lids of his eye gently smoothed off the sand
“Your so…beautiful, Suguru”, a soft chuckle left your lips as you closed your eyes and leaned your ear towards his lips hearing his breathing brought a calm sensation over your body
“Wish I could be part of your world”, subconsciously you let out the hum of tone that was meant for luring out prey, it was instinct like a cat purring when they’re being pet or overwhelming happy
Your head laid onto his chest as you continued to hum along to a melody, suddenly his body jerked slightly and a tiny cough escaped, surprised you quickly lifted your head to see his eyes slowly opening
All he saw before he came to was a gorgeous silhouette of a woman with long vibrant hair after another fit of coughs he abruptly sat up and held onto his chest pushing his hair from his face before he saw nothing in front of him, with a heavy sigh he stood up on wobbly legs and stared out to the ocean to see nobody then continued his track up the cliff
And in the far distance an octopus with stitches attached to its head formed plans
