“Convenient, ain’t it?” Benoudhi laughed as he helped him haul the first body on the pyre. “Big strong man like you, and you don’t even care nothing about touching them.”
He shrugged. “They are not my people.”
“They are half your people, I reckon,” Benoudhi pointed out. “If you ate ‘em, I think everyone would call it cannibalism, plan and simple.”
“That is a...discomforting technicality,” Sen murmured, shaking his head. “It is said by the Elan’ti that one is either full blooded, or not. There is no half.”
Benoudhi’s brow furrowed. “Don’t know if I can cotton that. I mean, here you are. Clear as day, ain’t a whole of either. Seems like being up on a mountain might have made them a little weak on fractions.” He grinned. “Ain’t no shame in that, mate. Not an easy task, those ones.”

Okay. So. I have to get to work on some real-world stuff now, but I just finished redrafting one of my fanfics into an original story. It still needs a lot of editing, but this feels like a big accomplishment, nevertheless. I want to keep going with it, but I haven’t forgotten about fanfiction, either. Those are still coming. I’m not leaving any of my stories unfinished.
