You Can't Fight It Alone
His skin is caked with tears and blood, A great deluge; a mighty flood. Bullets pierce through skin and bone, Heroes die from a surge of stones. What justice is this 'resolution'? This war is far from a good solution. The problem's a flawed institution. But what will stop this dissolution? Only time will perform this execution. What might solve this battle of wills? Surely not through dollar bills. Yet this madness continues still. Maybe I'll just take the pill... Her eyes shine strong like a sea of stars, Each a separate tragedy jar. Full of hearts, those She's torn out. Is that what this is all about? She cries a sea, She weeps alone. Inside Her mind She sees a stone. It's soaked with blood, His blood, alone. A new knife added to Her throne of bones. She draws a card, from the stack. Trust in Her; they will soon lack. Once She takes Her axe to hack, Once Her blade's drawn from His back. They dance together, hand-in-hand. They travel to a different land. One without blood in the sands. They might be alone, but together they stand.
